my Valkyrie runs or is it my imagination that she runs smoother?

This diaphram does look worn but I'm not sure that the ring around the central pin is normal or not.
Any comments?

its worn leaking vacuum restricting fuel flow. I had same problem, bike ran uneven showing signs of leaness. it even acted like it was running out of fuel. mine looked like that after 15k miles.
search my posts for repair part #s and about putting a snubber in the vacuum line which should extend its life.

Thanks CA, I did put a coverset in, and it does seem to run smoother. I find that when I twist the wick now it doesn't have that brief hesitation that it did.  cooldude

Oh wow, a diaphram can make your valk run poorly?
That would explain my bike feeling like it has less power.

Can you tell me where you ordered the coverset from, dann.

Gonna do the upgrade.

Powersport Honda in Ottawa, the local dealer, not that pricey, 2 day delivery. I pulled the tank but didn't remove the entire petcock from the tank, just unscrewed the 4 screws from the petcock and put the new parts in. Didn't check the screen that way but it sure was a quick fix.

from a previous post of mine. the K&L is lower ocst than OEM. search is your friend
at the time valkyrie OEM was not avail.

"K&L Supply is the company name. Their website is very limited, however their customer # is very helpful.

#18-5254 (actual K&L part # for CBR1000F and other bikes, diaphragms and spring are the same, I just received this kit, it has extra o-rings not needed for our bike.) (Tucker Rockey # TR29-2506) more $$$ but all that is avail right now
http://www.cyclepages.com/ProductGroupDisp.aspx?ProductGroupID=4001277

For Valkyrie
TR29-2725 (actual tucker rockey part #)  (K&L 18-5018 is the K&L #)  cheaper $$ but not avail right now. It is listed on www.directlineparts.com
http://www.powersportsuperstore.com/K-L-SUPPLY-CO-PETCOCK-REPAIR-KIT-MULTIPLE-APPS-SEE-p/tr29-2725.htm "

I bought the same kit for $36.41 in 4/10 from Direct Line. Mine didn't have a Sharpie Fine Point  Smiley Kit still in the bag I converted the petcock to manual.
