Goldwing front brake rotors

Some of you have used the 1800 Goldwing front brake rotors on the Valkyrie. What year will fit the Valkyrie? I ordered the rotors for a 03 VTX 1800, was told they would fit, but they will not bolt onto the wheel. I just can't afford almost $600 for the Valkyrie replacement. Also if you have used the EBC rotors do you have a part number. Thanks in advance.   Dan

Are you talking about the 1800 GoldWing rotors fitting a
Valkyrie Rune or a Valkyrie Interstate

1800 GW front rotors are supposed to fit all Valkyrie Standards, Tourers and Interstates.  You'd probably have to ask on a Rune board about whether they fit them also.

I put the 1800 wing rotors on my 2000 interstate about two months ago. No problem at all and a lot cheaper than the valk replacement rotors. I got mine from HDL.

All the Valk front rotors are the same and interchangeable.

I'm sure they would as Marty said all the front wheels are the same from 98 up. I think the 97s run different bearings not sure on the rotors for those.

Rotors are the same.  Bearings are smaller but do not have a higher failure rate than the '98-'03s.

What prevents it from being bolted onto the wheel Dan?
I'm puzzled because EBC lists the same rotors for this VTX as for our Valks.



A few years ago, I have used that list to purchase different rotors for my Valk. The ones that I am presently using are either from a VFR800 or a CBR600 (not sure LOL). They are similar to this one.

Yes, you can put 1800 Gold Wing front rotors on the front of a 1500 Valk...

Some of us did that because they were MUCH cheaper at the time.

Now, the Valk rotors are reasonably priced...so if you're buying new, go with the OEM Valk rotors.

I'm finding the OEM Valk rotors for about $150.00 each, but the 1800 Wing rotors are 1/2 that. Can you send me a link for OEM rotors?

Don't you also have to factor in if it is on a "J1" wheel or a "J2" wheel  on your bike?   Just to add confusion to the topic of rotors, calipers and wheels.

Aren't those the rear rims only? All fronts except as stated for the 97' are the same.

That's a pretty good price for OEM at least as far as I can tell...

direct line says OEM goldwing rotors are about $266/ea and Valk rotors are are about $192...valk rotors USED to be over $300/ea...

The bearing is the difference here, I believe. The rotors are the same.
