We had a huge turn-out for this ride a few years ago just thought I'd let y'all know tonight on The History Channel ....Gettysburg.....All this week on The History Channel is " Civil War Week " .....I'll be checking it out  cooldude

9:00-11:00p eastern   (Airdate May 30, 2011)  A history of the Battle of Gettysburg, fought in 1863, commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, which began in 1861, and recalls the costly battle in Pennsylvania that was a turning point in the war.

The sad part of it all was that History isn't giving the real reason the Civil Wars was fought.  It wasn't about slavery, it was about the South secceeding from the Union.  Still an incredible event in our country's history.

Since the Rebel Yell principally served to relieve the charging soldier of his churning emotions, it was almost always spontaneous. There were times, however, when commanders deliberately ordered their men to give the Yell, hoping it would inspire their troops and frighten the Federals. One such case occurred in May of 1864 near Richmond. Near the end of an engagement, General Jubal Early prepared to order a final charge when his men informed him that they were out of ammunition. The General's reply was to "holler them across." And the Confederates did...

Well if the North had not been so obstinate, with their views on Slavery, which was legal at the time.

The South would not have wanted to sucede the Union.

Lincoln was a fool, for thinking they would give a billion dollars worth of property up for nothing.

The Government should have bought the slaves and freed them.

Problem solved.

Both sides of this thing were stupid.

Donald Trump would have made  profit as the broker and everybody would have went their merry way.

What a waste over greed basically.

Hey Al... I think a large problem would have still remained... where would these millions
of non-US-citizen freedmen go?
