I want to buy a tow bumper hitch for my valk. the manufacture claims that chain driven motorcycles can be towed with no damage to the drive system. However they dont say anything about towing a driveshaft bike. Has anyone towed their valk with the front tire up and back tire on the ground?

Dont do it.  All the weight of the Valk resting on the rear wheel (well not all, but a lot) will wear that rear tire........get a trailer

Why would you want to to tow a MC, ride it to where you're going!!

What do you want to tow it behind?

Wether it is the Valk's rear tire or a small trailers tires, going down the hwy will wear them both. Which would be cheaper and easier to fix. A regular trailer would be have other uses.

If the tow vehicle is wide enough, how about a scooter lift? Get both wheels off the ground. Sure, a Valk is less than 800 #.

Usually towing a standard shift transmission vehicle is normal. But on the other hand, I wouldn't tow my Valkyrie under any circumstances. I will however, put it on a trailer, which I have done, and haul it anywhere. Just my opinion.

I had a suzuki GS650 and the owners manual strictly forbid towing the bike.  The front end of the drive was lubed by engine oil.  I would expect the valk is similar.

I've seen lift hitches similar to what you're describing. My neighbor had an 02 wing. towed it from the front wheel. Got about 150 miles into his towing adventure with the wing behind his car, and feels a tug on the car. looks bbehind him and bike is fishtailing like crazy. Locked up something in there bad enough that we never could get that motor to turn over again. didnt take apart the trans but
it probably would have told a scary story if we had.  We figured that there was enough internal destruction that he ended up buying a wrecked wing for the eng and trans....

Get a small utility trailer to tow the Valk, then get a hitch for the Valk and you can pull the trailer!

that it is...you do not want to tow the Valks without the motor running.  Have to pump oil to the little bits in the transmission or it will be screwed up.  Best option...if you can't ride it is to put it on a trailer.
