Mast General Store

Rode to Valle Crucis, NC, yesterday to the Mast General Store. If you
ain't not never been there you should go. Lot of old-timey stuff to
see and usually some people pickin' and grinnin' on the back porch.
The floors creak, they are nowhere near level, no air conditioning....
it's GREAT!!! The one in Valle Crucis is the original store. Built in
1882-83. Well worth going a few miles out of your way if you're
anywhere near.

They let them put one in the rejuvenated part of Greenville, SC, in
an old building. Lots of stuff from clothes to hiking gear and an old timey
candy section that makes Cracker Barrel's old timey candy selection look
like a second-rate quickie-mart.

No pickers-and-grinners at the Greenville store...
