Let's just say that "if I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself!"  Cry ...

I am coming up on 62 in September. Started riding at 13 on a '68 BSA. Back then in Puerto Rico
you weren't required to be licensed to ride any size motorcycle!  Cheesy

I always liked the older Hondas that I've owned: '73 CB350, '74 CB750; five '75-'77 GL1000 Naked Gold Wings;
'74 CB750F; '97 Shadow ACE 1100 ...

When I went to pick up the New '97 Shadow at the tiny local dealer, they were rollin' in a '97 Valkyrie.
I sat on it and was intimidated by its size... and by the $3K price over the Shadow.
The next day my Boss went in and bought the Valk. He still owns it.

At the time I was 48, 175 lbs and 5'7." Now I'm 61, 240 lbs and barely 5'6."
(Yes, a big belly pulls on and curves your spine... it makes you shorter.)

Finally, got my first Valk (2000 Standard Black) in March 2011 at an estate sale in Arizona.
The P.O., Mr. Gibbs passed away in 2009 at the tender age of 68.
If Gibbs and his seven virgins were lookin' up from heaven, they'd be enjoying the Royal Treatment that "Dragonfly" is getting.
Now, lookin' back, I wonder what was I thinking... choosing a Shadow over a Valkyrie!  Angry  It makes me puke!

I think this Valk will be w/me until I croak. Then one of you guys can get it... nobody in the immediate family rides.  tickedoff

My old man rode Davidsons from 1942 - 1984, when at 70 he had a M/C accident in my CB750.
The bike was destroyed, he walked away with a broken arm.
He  passed away two years later... "natural causes."

My younger Cousin (59) rides a 2004 Valkyrie Rune ... far from my taste.  2funny

I married my vintage-model-wife in Halloween 1978 at the L.A. County Court House... $11 bucks
for the certificate, plus breakfast at the Court's cafeteria... a great bargain!  Cheesy

The wife used to ride w/me in years past, but now she won't.   Sad However, she admits that the Valkyrie is the
most beautiful bike I have ever owned. If the old man was around he'd agree!

If life could be rewinded I would erase 1974 through 1977. The time was great but life with the "company" sucked... big time!  crazy2

My mother says I was born 40, so I guess that makes me 105!  Not in too bad a shape for my age.  Did Trike the I/S cause my knees/hips/ back weren't up to the challenge.  Married 37 years to the same great woman.  Stan

I've never understood people bragging about their young age or pretending some superiority to their seniors.  Youth is not an accomplishment.  It's automatic.  Growing older requires at least something.

I'm 60, and probably a high mileage 60 at that.  I used to brag that there was nothing I'd do differently if I had it all to do over again.  I don't say that anymore.  Honestly, now and again, I would like to to it all over again.

67 when getting out of bed......27 when on the Valk.  Bought my beast 4 years ago, I had sat on one with 50k miles but couldn't get permission to ride it.  So, I flew 1500 miles to take a test drive and after driving it around the block, paid the guy and drove it 2300 miles back to California......a hell of a first ride and a grin so wide my face still hurts 4 years later. But that could be cause I still grin every time I get on .......... Grin

Due to proper respect for my elders, I've added a few more age brackets to the poll.  I'm a strong believer of the saying:  To be old and wise you must first be young and stupid. angel

Hey Willow, Although I'm younger than most. I have more fun hanging out with seniors to myself than people my own age. I hope someday when I am older, I have as much energy as some of the older folks on this board. It was great meeting you at the Hillbilly Ride. Couple of months I will turn 70.  Can't believe that I am this old.

Still married to my first wife after 44 years.

Bought my Interstate just under 4 years ago, and have put 83,000 miles on it.  (And I was grounded for health reasons for about 6 months.)

Since I'm 60, I didn't know if I should be in the 50 to 60 group  or the 60 to 70 group.  Since I still feel younger on most days, especially days that I ride - I checked the 50 to 60 group.

Ride Safe,

At age 57 I checked in at 50-60 group, but, since I have actually owned the Valk for 10 years, perhaps I should've checked in at the 40-50 group..............  Undecided

I turn 43 next month and I have had the Valk for 8 years.  I don't get out as much as I like but I make it count when I do.  Don't know what I would do if something ever happened to it, not many out there will low miles anymore.  Mine only has 28k miles on it.  Bought it with only 4k miles on it.  Sad
