It makes me feel better that no one has answered you. Maybe that's a good sign. I keep a length of 5/16th" hose in the bottom of my bag "just in case" It will fit good on the "T splitter" but be a little loose on the Pingle end.

iv'e been working on equipment for over 10 years..all of our equipment has electric fuel shutoff valves..in that 10 years the only electric valve iv'e ever had to replace was for L.P. gas. it got totally clogged shut..as far as regular gas..we have equipment that is at least 30 years old..still running the original electric valve it came from the factory with..

That's pretty much what I would have expected too.  I'm not completely sure yet, but after running a 5/16 hose from the petcock to the T at the carbs, it now starts and runs. ??? Solenoid shows power to the hot wire and the ground is good as well.  I'm taking it off tomorrow to check it out. I'll get back to ya

"Short" = momentary high current flow = fuse blows. An "open" coil ? - no current flows, coil doesn't energize, and the valve doesn't open.

Solenoid seems to be functioning. Now to figger out why it seemed to be starving for fuel  And yes, the petcock was turned "ON",,,

Bobby I am using 2 DanMarc fuel without the filters valves. Screen are still on the regular fuel valve that mounted on the tank. If I remember correctly you are also using a gravity flow extra fuel tank that is higher than the stock tank. The reason for 2 fuel cut-off solenoids, with the ignition off both valves are closed! Ignition on; only 1 valve open at the time, valve 1 open ..valve 2 closed and visaversa. This way I can never fill up the highest tank and overflow the lowest if I forget to close either valve. All you need 1 on-off switch and a double throw 12VDC relay. Supply power to the switch and relay only with the ignition on. NC contact to valve 1 and NO to valve 2.

Thanks TJ,,, I'll keep this in mind. First I have to determine the cause of the engine dying while idling the other day. Then it wouldn't start again. I've got another Solenoid coming in a couple of days.

After not finding a problem with the Dan Marc solenoid, I started eliminating other potential faults. I didn't find anything wrong. ??? Petcock checked out too.  I replaced all the fuel hoses in case there was one collapsing. I still don't know what was wrong, but it starts and runs now.  I'm pleased to see this, but I'd like it better if I had identified the cause of it dying and not restarting previously. I'd hate to see it do it again while I'm out riding far from home, instead of on the driveway as before. I guess it could be worse.
