Rather stick with the military huh? So you want a military dictatorship? Because that's pretty much what you get when the military is also the law enforcement branch.

I think you read a little into what I was saying, made some assumptions...
You know what happens when we ASSUME.

What I meant was he was talking out of his anal orifice as usual.

Why duplicate effort?  we have a military, a damn good one, they are trained, equiped, and funded.  To do as the POTUS said, he would have to recruit, equip, and train another, duplicate (per his words "a civilian national security force that’s JUST as powerful, JUST as strong, JUST as well-funded.")  In our current economic situation, how does he fund it?  By raising taxes?

I said nothing about wanting a military dictatorship, I said "If it's all the same to you, I'd rather just stick with the military" i.e.  What we have is working, we don't need to duplicate effort.  Do you see what I am saying?

What we have is not working. Our all-volunteer military is overtaxed and spread too thin. It's not even CLOSE to working.

Boxer rebellion, the Holy Child. They all pay their rent.
But none together can testify to the rhythm of a road well bent.
Saddles and zip codes, passports and gates, the Jones' keep.
In August the water is trickling, in April it's furious deep.

What we have (military) works pretty darned good until an overspending government uses the defense budget to try to save their shortfall.  Clinton did it and Im sure were scrimping on the military now too.  The problem is not the military its the government and its out of control spending.

I dont know how much time you spent on active duty Anvil, but in my 23 years Ive seen the US military display awesome worldwide and at home capability.  Mismangement always deteriorates the capability of any organization and this adminstration has redefined mismanagement, then they blame the thing they ruined.  They are the problem, then they say they are going to fix it with more of the same garbage they used to cause the problem.
