Yes, here in the USA, we teach men to be men, and women to be women... ...and we certainly don't have any girly men, or manly women!    Here in the good ole U S of A we have the freedom to be whatever we want,(I think we all know what you want to be) no matter have repugnant or immoral it may be.  I have to draw the line at "gender neutrality", if you think society is screwed up now, just wait and see what happens if this crap takes hold.  OK, flame on |

OK, flame on Are you suggesting that gender identity has to be taught? Little boys would become effeminate and little girls would become masculine if they had a neutral environment? Hard to imagine that... I don't think gender neutrality will confuse children, but it might allow a girl to become a scientist or engineer because she wasn't taught that it was for men. I don't see any problems with it, and can see a few possible benefits. As for me, I was able to become an electronic and mechanical engineer, research scientist, businessman, and father, among other things. My gender identity wasn't taught to me. I had the opportunity to play with my sister's dolls and other "girly" things if I wanted. I preferred to take everything apart instead. No one taught me that, and, conversely, I was punished for it. Never stopped me, as it was ingrained in me to take a phrase from Daniel Meyer. |
