what's with the shortage Angry Angry. i'm hoping to go to Sturgis this year  on a memorial ride for a riding buddy who passed away last week of cancer at the age of 44. We had the trip planned as a bucket list item. my problem is my bike needs a ujoint and it's been on back order and won't show up for at least 6 weeks. i've tried ebay and all sorts of internet stores. has anyone got a spare one out there that i could buy ,or have a line on one . thanks for any help anyone can give.

Have you tried a driveline shop.  I have heard of them being rebuilt and there was a guy on this board who had greasable rebuilt u joints for sale, I thought.
Maybe someone with a better memory than me can tell you who it was.

Check the tech board.  Someone just posted a re-built one with part numbers for a u-joint from Auto Zone (or Napa, or something along those lines).

I'm waiting for a full write up with directions, but I'm sure if you message him, he can walk you through building one.

The other thing you can try is shop around for some trike shops that did a conversion on a 1500 GoldWing .... they use the same u-joint
