I use it without any issues.  Probably anything that meets Honda specs is good enough.

I use synthetic because I tell myself that it will run cooler.  I don't have anything to back this up.

i use synthetic in everything. my foolish butt believes it must be better because its a hell of a lot more expensive ! seriously: reports indicate less breakdown over time.

There are many tests out there that prove that to be true. I even remember reading about a kid using amsoil for a school science project showing lower temps vs dino oil. He won first prize.

Been using the Mobil 1 in both Valk's final drives for over 225,000 combined miles.  I change it whenever I pull a tire.  The magnetic drain plug always has only a tiny amount of metal, which hopefully is a sign there's very little wear inside.

I didn't know a magnetic drain plug was available for the final drive unit. I would use one. I have one for the regular oil drain on my bikes. Who makes a magnetic drain plug for our final drive units? Thanks.

It's already there unless you replaced it with other than OEM....next time you pull the drain plug use a Q-tip and you will clear out the muck and see the magnet.

the dealer probably changed the guys bike with no magnetic drain plug.......he changed the engine oil, and the final drive at the same time, and just put the final drive plug in the engine drains place, and the engine plug in the final drive.

didn't read it that way....Joefromperry said he replaces the engine oil drain plugs with magnetic ones on all his bikes and was unaware that there was already a magnetic drain plug in our final drive units.....he will probably pipe in at some point.
