Just a few things you may or may not know:
 1. All the INTERNAL PARTS from a 1500 Goldwing final drive are the same as the Valk. final drive.
Meaning: If you know where there is a good 1500 wing final drive you can use the ring gear and
pinion from it.  The final drive HOUSINGS (wing and valk.) are not the same.
 2.  SHIMS: You may need both pinion shims and or ring gear shims.  #19 and #17
 3.  Unless you know exactly what you are doing, do not try to remove bearing #1.
It can be done if you have Dental Tools in your tool box.
 4.  Replace the Ring Gear Seal.  #32
 5.  All the other bearings are no problem, two large screw drivers are all you need to remove them.
 6.  A better option would be E-Bay, Pinwall.

Lee, his Valk is at my house. Just a few observations:

We attempted the swap of the ring gear & pinion, from the final drive of a '91 'wing.

1. The top of the gear teeth of the Valk drive was wider than the 'wing's. The tooth count on both the ring gear & pinion was the same, Valk to Wing.

2. The pilot (part of the shaft that inserts into bearing in the housing) of the Valk pinion shaft was .015 larger than the 'wing pilot.

I want to check the later models ( '97 up) to see if they are the same measurements, just don't have one available at the moment.

As always, open to all suggestions.

I stand corrected.
Parts fiche  for 91 wing dosen't even show the pilot bearing.
The 97 does and has the same first 5 numbers (06910).
The change mite have started in 96.  Same first 5 numbers for ring gear and pinion (41310).
