Hey everyone! A little input here would be great. I bought a set of TBR 6 into 6 exhaust for my Interstate. A little too much sound for me...especially on long trips (and when I leave for work at 4:30 in the morning). Anyway, I was thinking about the some form of the glass pack mod and just wondering if it ends up bieng just as loud or is more mellow? I was looking at possibly getting some Thrush Turbo packs or the Mellow Tone glass packs. Im wanting more of a low rumble than what Im getting out of these 6 into 6 TBR. Thanks for any ideas!

I took my TBRs off and installed the stock exhaust. It was fun in town, but I thought a 4 day, 10-13 hours a day trip would lead me to just HATE the pipes.

I'm considering the QueExpress mod (see Shop Talk). You can have strait pipes, loud glasspacks, quieter packs and silencers for a menue of anoyance levels. Best of all worlds if you have 20 minutes to do a change, even on the road. And the look of the chrome truck stacks is awesome!

I second the glasspacks. Either the QueExpress method if your handy, or Mark-T's if you just want to buy 'em.

I did the QueExpress mod, with Cherry Bombs (2"), and have a set of straight pipes as well. Daily riding with the glasspacks, and the option to make more noise when needed with the straight pipes, or even more with everything out-just the reducers, but that gets painful quickly. But handy for bike rallys.  crazy2

And I got real lucky on craigslist, found a full set of unmolested I/S pipes (for my later years) and the glasspacks and straights with the couplers already welded, and the stacks already drilled for mounting. And in another ad found a full exhaust that had been scuffed in prep for coating but they changed their course and I got those for $50, then just added the reducer. Still need to finish a set of silencers too.

I do plan to make some new straight pipes, as the ones I have are 2 1/4" and I feel the loss of power when changing from the glasspacks. May try some 1 3/4" to see if I can keep the scavenging I lose with the bigger pipe.

I also need to extend the glasspacks to the end of the stacks as I get some drone in my 3/4 helmet but the 1/2 is OK. And funny, the straight pipes don't drone in the 3/4...
