George Carlin once said "The next sentence is true.  The last sentence was false"  This is a universal negative. Try to figure it out.

It's actually self contradicting, but he used two statements.  If you want an example of a single statement self contradiction would be:

Rule 13. There is an exception for every rule.

Y'all can talk in circles with impressive first second third person singular plurals for all I care.....sounds good but dont make you any smarter about where God came from.

I have no problem believing that we are not constructed to comprehend the real answer to that one.  you would be like that Russian chick on Indiana Jones Crystal Skull if God tried to force enough knowledge into your wee brains (including you Willow) before you could even begin to understand anything near the full being, nature, origin and will of God you would just explode.....so be glad you dont have to worry about it  Wink

Me? I'm fine with it. Not everything in this world is meant to be written out and explained for us in minute detail. It's like seeing the secrets to a brilliant magician's trick; very interesting but you'll never appreciate the illusion the way you once did.

"Everything in it's place"

We humans are made of billions of cells each separate and yet totally depend on each other.  These cells function in unison to form what we think of as a single self-aware being. The cells are continuously working to improve their design. They make small changes, just keeping those changes that improve the design. In our case these changes have brought us intellectual powers and self awareness.

For years I felt certain my truths were the only answer, but life experiences taught me different.  Can define 1 billion light years, but can't comprehend that considerable distance.

So it is with the question of God.

mankind appears to be incapable of many things

seeing in 5 dimensions, travel thru time, understanding women.....

(Is time the Lords way of keeping everything from happening at the same instant?)

It is written in the Torah (when Moses is waiting on Sinai for the tablets)
that a human can not see/behold the Lord and live.  He is placed in the cleft of a rock and
the closeness of the visage after the Lord has passed was enough that the poor man glows for the rest of his life, making him the first nite lite  Moses did not have horns, the word means glows.

When I have gone to my ancestors if I can send a message maybe  I will, but dont hold me to that
as 1. I am in no hurry and 2. I am sure I wont give a darn once I am there as I will be riding my Valkyrie around the heavens/ wonder if the air horn works in heaven and will I finally
be able to drag pegs??

Anyone who confesses to more than zero is, by definition, a creationist.  From there to what flavor of creationist rapidly becomes more convoluted.   Smiley [/i]

I never thought of it that way, but it sort of relates to my feelings about oblivion. Now, I may be a sentient being but I'm also flesh and blood and matter. Where did that raw material come from? What was there before it existed, or was it always? For that matter; define "always". Atheists just say "it is what it is". But it wasn't always what it is. Once upon a time it was something different.

As for intelligent design, I hear arguments against it all the time. But really, we are on the verge of creating artificial intelligence that rivals our own. Most think it's only a matter or time before we create machines that are capable of questioning their own existence and feeling emotions. If that happens then you have to toss every argument against creationism in the trash because it's then possible that "god" is a being operating on a scale that we can't comprehend. It also opens the possibility that our creator may not occupy the penthouse, if you get my meaning.

But no matter how you look at it you have to realize that what you can see, hear, feel and touch is in this life. Make the most and the best of it, for yourself and for others when you can.

Anatole France once said, "It is the certainty that they possess the truth, which makes men cruel." Got to always watch out for that... Lips Sealed

WHO WE ARE:
Indeed, we're all pieces of the same ever-changing puzzle; some connected for mere seconds, some connected for life,
some connected through knowledge, some through belief, some connected through wisdom, some through Love, and some connected with no explanation at all.

Yet, as spiritual beings having a human experience, we're all here for the sensations this reality or illusion has to offer.

The best anyone can hope for is the right to be able to Live, Learn, Love then Leave. After that, reap the benefits of their own chosen existence
in the hereafter by virtue of simply believing in what they believe...

EVIL HAS POWER:
And this is the forbidden truth, the unspeakable taboo - that evil is not always repellent but frequently attractive; that it has the power
to make of us active accomplices. Cry

"To cheapen the lives of any group of people, cheapens the lives of all people, even our own.”
