I was flipping through the channels this evening and saw this sharp looking gal talking on some news program. So, still having some red blood running through my veins, I paused to see who it was. After a few minutes, her name was flashed on screen; Dana Perino. The name rang a bell....wasn't she something in the Bush II admin?  Who cares, fine looking woman. Probably a good thing she didn't work for Willy, that black headed bimbo wouldn't have had a chance....what was her name again?

She was talking to some woman called Greta something or other. She wasn't anything to look at so guess I won't change my watching habits. Most of those hosted "news" channels seem to be tilted one way or the other, seldom care to show both sides so I don't watch any of them. Give me the History channel, or Speed, ESPN, Sci Fi, TCM, the good stuff.  Grin

Dana used to be the Press Secretary for Bush II and she is a fine specimen of a woman.  If you think Greta is unattractive now you should have seen her on CNN.  When she changed networks, she got plastic surgery.

Yup, that's her, she'll make heads turn entering a room. Of course all you see is from the bust up, so who knows....maybe she's like the Kardashian's. Looks fine in the face but so big across the beam they can't fit in an armchair.

Marty, that Greta actually had plastic landscaping done? Looks like the surgeon broke for lunch and forgot to come back to the OR.

The plastic surgery result depends a LOT on the starting point.

I have NO problem with that.

When she was on the Five yesterday they showed those nice legs that belongs to Dana.  FOX use to have flower arrangements on there coffee table until someone emailed FOX and told them to quit hiding the female commentary legs.

I thought Greta had CP?  ???

Just looked it up, she had Bells Palsy at age 24 and it's said she never fully recovered?  I'm not that interested to look any further into it.

With the exception of Greta, Fox News is foxy all the way.  However, at my age, I look a little farther (pun intended).  Greta is not up to standards but IMO she has has the talent to ask the right questions.

If in fact she had Bells Palsy that is just another problem that she had to overcome.  I give Fox News credit for using her talent and ignoring her looks.  Women newscasters have a special problem to overcome as they get older, they become unsexy and their talents are secondary.

As for me, I hate to look in the mirror and see what age has done to (for) me.  Good thing that guys aren't held to the same standard.

Just so I can be the traditional wet blanket, I'm going to express my concern over this discussion.

I find the entire thread shallow and juvenile.  I've been surprised by a couple of the participants because I had thought they practiced a more mature thinking process.  Some of the others I've not been surprised at and my impressions of them haven't changed.

BTW, Wayne, these days men are held to a similar standard when women choose to stoop to the level that's been demonstrated here.  Fortunately, you and I are a couple of the old guys that won't regularly be ridiculed for our lack of appeal.

Truth be known, I'm probably mostly offended because I like Greta.  I think she's a fine reporter and I don't find her repulsive as some of you apparently do.

When I watch the news, I want to see a an old experienced guy like Walter Cronkite.  News is supposed to be objective news, not sex.  When I see attractive women, it may be an unfair stereotype, but I wonder what the network is trying to sell....... objective news or T & A.

Now the weather gals can be hot, but newscasters should be old, wrinkled, experienced men or women with a long developed rep for honesty, accuracy and objectivity.

And here's my other beef.......... women announcers do not belong on televised football games (college or pro), as on-field color commentators or otherwise (unless they actually played some years of high school and college football).

+1, Jess.  If I want to see sweet honeys, I'll turn to another channel.
