Disco in the house by about 19:15.  1,077 miles of smiles.

I wish everything worked that well.  The crazy thing, if I really had anything to do with it, is that in almost 400 miles today, I had one little 30-second spray just west of Bridgeport, and one decent 1-2 minute sprinkle as I was coming into Denton.  Otherwise, completely dry.  It had rained quite a bit up here before I sneaked in, then it resumed after I got here!  

Great to see everyone and meet new friends!  Looking forward to the next time.  Soon.

Got Dag back to town and Wizard's bike put away in Lyn-Del's barn about 5:00.  Rocketman picked Dag up to deliver to his hotel.  I am back in the house also.  We took a little longer getting back to town but managed to wait out a lot of the drenching rains.  Only rained on us good about the last 60-70 miles.

Great weekend.  Thanks to all for making the effort to show up.

WHOAH Alternators everywhere!!!  Do therse things fail all the time??

No, they don't fail all the time.  But when they do, it's sudden.  And they are not available locally as the Valk alternator is not setup exactly like the GoldWing alternator.  Although you can "turn" the Goldwing alternator and make it work, even the Goldwing alternators aren't stocked - they must be ordered.

So, like u-joints, kickstand bolts and springs, some of us will stock the parts on our bikes when we go for trips as the alternative is waiting a couple of days for parts to arrive in the event of a failure.  I will admit carrying an extra alternator around could be considered a paranoid way of looking at things, but as you can see, on this trip there could have been a need and even if not my valk, we would be able to put someone back on the road for the ride back home fairly quickly.

Glad your problem will be solved quickly as well.

A great riding weekend.
 Ok we all wanted rain so we got it! never before riding in so much rain as on 290 sunday afternoon. MrBubbles and Mrs with Sambeaux were behind somewhere but couldn t see them. couln t see in front but a white haze, meanwhile my boots are filling up and the new water proof gloves don t work and the gogles have to be emptied every minute .What an adventure!!! + all those cars with no tail ligths!!
We did see a bike 2-up going west on 290 .we felt sorry for them.

OH yeah...that was alot of rain.....I could not beleive all the cars with no lights on...pretty scary....my clothes...jacket...etc...are still wet

Recap.................. I had a slow start with the (self induced) charging problem. Had a great time seeing everybody (nearly everybody ....sounds like i missed a silver and pearl blue ).
When I left Kerrville with the Luckenbach bound crowd, I decide to split in Fredericksburg to everybody's surprice. I didn't feel good and it wasn't getting any better (fever 100.4). I have never been to Luckenbach and really wanted to go, especially with our Norwegian guest!
It was nice to see all the rivers flowing again and the stock tanks filled up on 16 going south.
