The only thing I changed was the windshield. Got one that is 4" wider and 3" taller and tinted, works good now. As for the seat, I have not found anything that I like. They don't seem to be as good as the stock seat for me. I would like to try a Russell since that is the only one I have not tried but a grand for a seat is out of my price range these days. More fuel mpg would be nice but if I really needed that I would buy a different bike.

A grand for a seat is ludicrous.
My buddy Eddie is also fond of the stock seat. Different seats for different asses.

I clicked on seat, but really mean the whole "seating arrangement", not just the seat itself. The stock seat was not perfect, but I sat on a lot worse. After Spencer seat mod, I am very pleased. What I really mean is the whole relationship of seat, to pegs, to room for feet, etc. I'd like to feel like I am sitting "in" the bike, not "on top" of it. It's the same thing that keeps me from being really comfortable on a GW. The part that I love best on the bike, namely the engine, is what makes it difficult, if not impossible (IMHO) to get totally comfortable. It's very wide, and too far back towards the rider, but that's where it needs to be. The changes made by adding a good set of Hiway pegs in the right position did wonders for the comfort. But still not perfect. However, I am very willing to put up with what I have. The rest more than makes up for it. What would be perfect for me would be the seating comfort of my Road Glide, with the engine and performance of the Valk. So, by having both, bingo! As for tires, shocks, etc, I have never owned any bike that can't be improved upon by replacing the OEM stuff with upgraded components, although the Valk is pretty good once you get rid of those wretched Dunlop rubber bands that they called tires.

I went with shocks but really meaning the front suspension which dips when I use the front brakes. I just sold my other Valk so I will invest in Progressive springs, new seals, and fork oil change.

There is only 1 bike I would even consider to replace my 98 tourer......ANOTHER VALK! For 68,000 miles the only non factory items were paint and extra chrome (most of it was Hondaline) had a drivers backrest and luggage rack behind the passenger back rest. After what this bike has been through and especially the friends that have been made with the Valk as connection(it has also strengthened previous friendships),there will never be another like my first but all others must have a resemblance to her that ONLY a F6 Dragon can provide. I'd say I'm 'satisfied' !

Please add brakes to the poll. Is it perfect? No. Am I 100% satisfied? For what it is (a 14 year old bike) I'd be more than 100% satisfied if that were possible. I upgraded to machined 12 inch rotors on the front of fatass with 4 piston calipers. same in the back. stops on a dime. goes 0-100 in 4 seconds, 100-0 is well, around 6 or 7 seconds. depending on my mood or how high the pucker factor is...

Stock seat just never made me feel that good. The windshield - maybe because it can't be cleaned with glass cleaners.
It's the best bike I've ever owned and maybe the best ever made, so can't complain about much.
Dag, what did you vote for?

I already changed to the ultimate king big boy, gone double darkside, running cobra's, memphis shades windshield, added some cheapo running lights, air horn...so I voted for the shocks, eventually will be putting in progressive springs and shocks..maybe a belly tank..

I clicked on shocks just to play the game.
Actually, I'm very happy with my set-up as is.
Being that I ride 2-up alot pulling a trailer, shocks and springs might help. The OEM's stay set on position 5 and they never bottom out. The fork springs don't seem to dive excessively during hard braking. With no handling issues, I'm not really in a hurry to make the upgrade.
I'm running a Nat'l Cycle Switchblade windshield, Mustang seats & Michelin car tire. I love the jade/black paint & I've got too many miles on the rear passenger to get any kind of trade in toward a sportier model.
