I don't think aholes are brand specific.  I've even seen them on Valkyries.  Shocked

At times, some Valkyrie riders seem as intolerant of Harley riders as some Harley riders are to any other brand.

I don't spend any time worrying about what others think about what I ride and I spend even less time worrying about what they ride.

Let's just ride.

I love the Valkyrie, i have owned two and will own another as soon as i can. The Harley is not for everyone but i like the one i have. Do i wish it had a Valkrie engine, Hell yes! The guys that ride those big choppers look down at the ones who ride Ultra Classic. But i don't care i just love to ride and i will and have shared the wind with all kinds of bikes and people.

It seems everyday someone is on here bad mouthing or making fun of Harley riders....Just pointing out we have members that own Harleys as well as Valkyries....I stand by my comment that I would bet they can out ride 95 % of the members on this site.

Joe that sounds like a challenge..............  Evil

Well..... they say variety is the spice of life.... and I tend to agree.  I have both a Valk and a Harley.... both have their good points and their bad.....  both bikes have about equal hp and torque..97 hp and 98 torque.. per dyno...... both run great and have been reliable..... I like them both for different reasons..  So.... get over it and ride!!!!!!  Knees in the breeze..... that's what I'm talkin about!!!!!

I'm one of those guys like Hot Glue. Own different bikes, and like them all for different reasons.  cooldude Matter of fact, he and I both talked at IZ XI about how crazy it is of some Valk riders to be so small as to keep bringing the anti HD stuff up all the time.

I've said many a time that I love all of the bikes I own, HD, Valk, or my BMW. They all have an engine, and two wheels. And that is what counts. That an the attitude to want to ride. I've never had a HD guy make comments about my Valk, and I interact with a lot of different bikes and bikers. Most actually admire the Valk, and F**k the ones that don't. My bikes only have to make one person happy - ME!!!!

As for all you guys that comment on how HD riders look, I have to say this. I see a lot of tats, pins, and badges on Vests at InZane the same as I do at HOG ralleys. What's the difference? Close your eyes and you would not know if it was a HOG, Honda, or any other event. Same bike games, jokes, etc., etc. Just a bunch of folks enjoying each others company, and riding their motorcycles.

Some of you guys need to have that big Chip on your shoulders surgically removed! Either that, or take some kind of mind expanding drugs.   Wink

BTW, I know you can "ignore" individuals, is there an ignore button for certain topics, because I've about had it with this one. Angry

I would like to say I rode a Valkyrie for 10 years and then decided to trade for a Harley 2 years ago. While I agree there is an attitude with some Harley riders I do not consider myself to be a part of that group.I like a lot of different types of bikes it just happens the bike I like at the present time is a 2010 Ultra Classic Electra Glide. I don't know if it will be a 10 year bike like the Valkyrie was only time will tell. I am one of those that believe it's not what you ride but that you ride. As it was said some of the members on here ride both brands and that should be kept in mind when comments are made. Lets all enjoy the ride and be thankful we are able to ride whatever we ride.

My wife met a new lady friend at work and they have a Harley and all the costume too.   My wife really wants me to meet the husband and maybe do some riding together.   I agreed.  At a company party here recently I met the couple and they seemed like a lot of fun and he and I got to talking about motorcycles.  He had a little bit of Harley Attitude but I was nice (for the wife) and endured it.  Later in the evening he and I are starting to click a little so in front of the wives I invited him and his wife to do a tour the next Sunday, out for breakfast and then a tour of the Brenham, Tx area .  He asked "How far a ride is it?"   I said "It is 230 miles but we can stop regularly so the girls can rest".  He looked at me like I was crazy and said "Geez!....230 miles!!!  Don't you think that is a little far?"    I looked at my wife and she was having to hide her face as she couldn't keep from laughing.  Trying to be nice I told them "Ok, we can just go out for breakfast and back."   Leaving that night my wife looked at me and said "That aint gonna work."     Then we both started laughing.

I saw a fella from work on his Goldwing while we were in Kerrville last year (~300 miles from home).  I spoke to him about it when we had both returned to work.  He kept coming back to the fact that 300 miles in one day was way too much for him.  I thought that Honda could recall your Goldwing if you think that 300 mile days are oppressive.

I traded a Harley for my Valk. I still own 2 Harleys and always will. Some times the wife even lets me ride hers! A Harley will never be a Valkyrie and the Valk could NEVER be a Harley...Gotta have one of each IMHO and who ever dont like it can kiss my as, if they can catch me..............on either one!

I ride with a local HOG group occasionally, decent folks. I even send business to the sponsoring dealership .  I never could get the whole Harley "Mystique ".

Seems like most people take pride in what they ride.  I know I do.  A little friendly ribbing's kind of fun.  I've never owned a Harley so there will be no brand bashing from me.  When I was looking to buy a road bike they were clearly out of my price range.  If someone's being a jerk it doesn't have anything to do with the cycle that they ride.  They're just a jerk.

I like motorcycles.  As long as they've got two or three wheels, who the hell cares.

As far as brands go, I've owned Harely Davidsons, Yamahas and Hondas.  They've all made me smile.

Today I went on a ride with two ex Valk riders, Orca & Scottie, and four people that work with Orca. Scottie & Orca have HD's now. There was one Honda Fury, really eye-catching, and my trike, the rest were Harleys. There was no attitude from anyone, just seven people out on a beautiful day on some great roads. We had fun, and plan to do it again. I bet they'll even let me ride along with them on my scooter next time.  I was at the back & could hear my stereo just fine. You meet the nicest people on a motorcycle. Call me Pollyana... I'm just sayin'...

At Sturgis, I have never heard anyone giving crap about what bike is ridden. The only banter going on is wether you rode or trailered. Then it gets heated.  Shocked Sad thing is you can tell who did.  Undecided

I read certain post on this board and I try to remember... are we guys with a common interest of loving the motorcycle or are we into distinguishing what brand we should ride and who is the best rider? I don't like the bashing or the competion talk. I ride with some Harley owners and they are all great guys. When I find a HD rider with an attitude I just distance myself from them and don't ride with them. I have been riding for over 45 years and logged thousands of miles but I am sure there are riders out there who can "out ride" me and many who can't. I don't really care because I ride for my own satisfaction and enjoyment and let every other rider do the same. This is what motorcycle riding is all about - not projecting a certain image or trying to be a better rider than anybody else. Just my two cents worth. Ride Safe! Hef

I don't know why, but this discussion of who has the best riding skills brings to mind a movie I saw about Ty Cobb, a lifetime 300+ ball player being asked in his later years by a reporter what he would hit as an average against the modern era pitchers.  Ty answered about .275 he would think.  He was then asked if that meant he had an easier time hitting his average in his era than he would today.   He looked at the reporter and said "Hell yes you damn fool, I'm seventy five years old today".  Grin  Grin.
