I recently bought a 98 Valkyrie Standard...has Memphis Shades Screen, heated grips, and

a cheap set of bags that one of them flew off the bike yesterday doing 75 mph....

First...any one have a recommendation on a decent set of hard bags..

Second...anyone have a Rivco Center stand they may be willing to part with for a reasonable
             price...

Third...any upgrades you guys can recommend..such as stainless braided brake lines, brake pads,

etc....

Fourth..also, a top case for the rear......suspension upgrades ?

Was doing 90 mph on this thing and it was like a rock...

Thanks, Rich EV

continue to look on this board.  Ideas, ideas, and more ideas are posted here.  Use the search feature as well.  I have a Givi case on my luggage carrier.  you have to remove the sissy bar, however you can get a pad for the passenger comfort requirements.  The givi removes in less than 5 seconds with a key,  Snaps back on just as fast.

You have one of, or maybe the best, cruiser bikes on the road ever to create your own master piece of riding enjoyment.  Read, search, purchase, install just like the pros with all the info on this web site.

Just about everyone has an opinion or Valkyrie experience that they will share with you.

My first upgrade was to change to synthetic oil to quiet the trans gears at 50-55 mph in 5th gear.  It is caused by the straight cut gears for a strong transmission.  Synthetic oil quiets the gear whine.  Everyone has a favorite, just be sure the container in not marked as energy conserving.  That type is bad for the clutch.  My fave is Mobil one, heavy duty 15-50, I've used it for 90000 trouble free miles. You will enjoy the bike, and welcome.  By the way we love pictures. Hoser  cooldude

The best bags are Tourer or Interstate bags plus they're a direct bolt on.  There's a set on ebay right now.

The above quote may very well be true, but he forgot to ad that there are several makes of bags like Champion, Tsukayu, and others that are much cheaper and are very close to the factory style with the same function.

They have actually changed the hinge on the Tsukayu bags to hinge from the front not the side like mine.

+1 for the Tsukayu bags (jumbo strong bags)

No I didn't.  The Honda bags are a direct bolt on with no drilling or fabbing required.

One of the best upgrades to my Valk was to install Progressive fork springs. The OEM springs allowed the front end to nose dive upon hard braking. The Progressive springs elimnates that.

There is a Rivco center stand for sale in the classified
