So your bike has how many cylinders?

Universal City, TX

« on: September 15, 2011, 08:33:15 AM »

Hey All,

I remember reading how the afterhours illumination on the speedometer and odometer basically stinks.  Does/Has anyone found a cure?  Is it as simple as changing the bulbs to a higher wattage?  Just figured I pick some experienced brains.  I ride a 97 Tourer.

Thanks Redflash.  Does anyone know off hand which bulbs are needed in the Speedometer/Odometer so I can pick them up on the way home?

The LED's on ebay above are much more expensive than from Super Brights. I believe I paid around $9.00 including shipping for 2 bulbs where ebay is almost $9.00ea.

It's a little confusing .... Ebay ad says "This auction is for 10 pieces
of T10 LED SUPER WHITE light bulbs (4 LED light bulbs per bulb)" for $8.83   ???

Thanks everyone.  I ordered the LED lights this morning for www.superbrightLEDs.com  There is also a nice link going on about replkacing the Tach bulb with some great pics.  It convinced me anyway.  Looking forward to my next night ride.

the L E D that stick out sideways can be tricky installing them into the spedo & tach. Be careful when installing them because you can break them.

I get from the description that there are 10 pieces for $17.72.  That beats just about all prices I've seen.  I'm up for a brighter dash.  I changed out all my car lights to LEDs and couldn't be happier.
