Can any one tell me which way the rear axel sleeve goes, it has a bell shaped end and I took it apart some time ago and not sure which way it needs to go back ...

It can only go one way...........you cannot put it together backwards. If its the one that goes inside the final drive it needs to go all the way in and butt up against a steel sleeve at the outside edge of the hole

I looked at the parts diagram and it shows the bell shaped end going towards the finial drive, if I put the narrow end towards the final drive it feels like it slides in, sort of! Any way I put it togeather with the narrow end against the final drive and now I'm thinking is this right!

If you have the wheel on and that spacer is in then its right, you cannot put it together backwards......same with the u-joint.......

The parts diagram is wrong. The bell shaped end should be toward the wheel; the narrow end toward the pumpkin. |

one end of the sleve has a little polished place on it at the end, and the other end has a little bit of a flair to it. the polished end (small end) goes into the final drive, and the flaired end goes to the outside.

i think you are talking about # 20...the little end goes into the final drive and the big end faces out.
