rear speaker wiring
«
on:

i just received the wiring kit from Electrical Connection for the rear speakers on my I/S
the kit came with two sets of wires, the speaker wire and a wire with a turn knob on the end?
has anyone used this kit before and if so what is the other wire for.
Don't mean to ask dumb questions, but i just got the bike a couple weeks ago.
also the instructions were for a goldwing.
Any instructions or pics of install would be great
The PO had it set up as a Super Valk, and I am converting it back to an I/S
Thanks in advance for any help
PS. the 13 pin round plugs coming out of the radio are for CB?

It looks like the wiring harness for the speakers is about two feet short
i will have to add wire for it to reach the side cover
I guess this kit is made for the goldwing.

You had to have gotten the wrong one. I have an electrical connection one and definitely had enough wire. In fact, I ran it inside the trunk instead of outside and still had plenty.
I'd send it back...

i just checked their website. and the kit they sent me is for a GL1500, not a Valkyrie. That's why it has a fader switch and the wiring harness is short.
Now I either send it back and wait for the correct one to be shipped, or i just lengthen the harness myself.

Definitely get it switched out with the correct one. That knob shouldn't be there. Install is very easy, plug and play kind of job once you have the right wiring harness. The worst part is getting the trunk apart and running the wires through it.

The knob is for a rear volume control. If you want that feature, lengthen the wires or check with EC and ask if the Valk kit has that.
