Nothing fancy or long winded. Did around 151 miles today and noticed where ever i went that the colors leave something to be desired this year. A lot of the trees that shouldn't be are already naked-as in leaves gone!! Some of the trees went from green to dead brown and on the ground rather quickly. A very few are putting on a proper color show. But by and large the colors are not very vibrant this year. Probably a combination of to much heat and not enough rain this summer. Hope others on the board are having better colors this fall. RIDE SAFE.

I think you're right on the change assumption. The trees in this area of Texas are changing without any hint of cold weather. It is still in the upper 80's and low 90's and the leaves on the trees are turning and dropping. I'm in search of some fall foliage tomorrow (Sat), wish me luck.

You are correct.  There are many factors in how long something "lasts", but those are the major issues when talking about fall color.  In the spring when blooming happens it's best that a cold snap comes and temperatures lower to keep the blooms on longer than usual.  Conversely extreme situations can speed up the process.  Cheesy

While seeing all the pretty colors and such is nice and all.... I would prefer nature to be different.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a "leaf night" or something where,  you wake up on, say, November 1st and ALL the leaves have fallen off ALL the trees overnight.

Pick'em up and be done with it...

Plant a male Ginkgo.  Probably the fastest shedding tree there is.  Great yellow fall color too.

Did about 120 miles today and the colors are still kinda flat around here. Even with the lack of color it was still a nice day to ride as it was in the mid to high 80s. Bout mid week next week they are calling for highs in the low fiftys and lows right at or below freezing. crazy2 I really really really despise winter. uglystupid2 RIDE SAFE.
