Got my annoying "pop" narrowed down to cylinder #3 it has a new o-ring. Would u think it is ,,1 exhaust leak @ head gasket or 2 ,,,vacuum leak,,, has been de-smoked and nipple is capped,,, or 3 a carb problem maybe to the low speed jet which is my guess. Seems like it is just this one cylinder an pops when your doing a throttle release to shift gears in a relaxed take -off. This pop can almost always be eliminated when you shut down throttle completely between shifts. Does this sound familiar to anyone ? Ran one can of seafoam but didn't seem to help that issue. Appreciate it much guys !!!!'

Check the vacuum cap on the nipple. Desmogged my 99 Std when I got it 2 years ago, and when it startd popping a few months back I found that the caps I had used were already cracked and dry rotted. replacing them cleared it right up.

Check the exhaust manifold bolts too...I've had some decel popping and usually that's the case for me. Careful not to overtighten.

Decel popping on a carb'd bike frequently indicates the carb is lean. If the above doesn't fix it, I would buy a AF adjustment tool and reset the mix. Before I did that, I'd run some Sentry, Techron, or Seafoam through it. Rule stuff out before you start tearing down the carb(s)
Keep us posted.

Another thing on the additives.
Keep the RPM's under 2,000, so as to try and stay in the slow jet.
Oh yes, full can of additive in a full tank.
Run it long enough to get the mixture into the carb, then let it set and work on the junk at least overnight. Then run it again for a few miles and if need be, let it soak another 12 hours................. If it is junk on the slow jet, it should be out on the 2nd try. If not, then ya got to go deeper.
MGM one winter, I forgot to put the stabilizer in it for winter. The next spring it spit popped and plain arse sputtered. SeaFoam cleared up all carbs but one. Ended up taking the bowl off of that cylinder and gave it a big healthy mouth full of carb cleaner. That took care of it.
Since I have gotten mucho older and MGM doesn't get ridden much, it catches a full can of SeaFoam on every other tankful now. Son is the pilot of him right now, so we have a calendar of when he will be riding with the Hardley boys. From that. we SeaFoam him accordingly. If it goes out every weekend, it doesn't get so much SeaFoam. We buy it by the case at the Shop, and we grab a can when needed.

Just going to remark about additives that you put in the gas tanks.
I found Seafoam the least effective,,, but that is outweighed by it's stabilizer ability.
I think Techron is better, and more so, I feel the strongest agent is that B-12 stuff.
If you calculate the difference between regular gas and premium gas and then again (if you can find) non-ethanol blended gasoline and do the same calculations between regular non-ethanol and premium non-ethanol varieties, well, it would seem to me you should also incorporate the costs of the additives when determining what would be the better deal.
Yesterday while in WalMart I looked at the price for Seafoam and it is now nine bucks a can. Techron and the others are similarly priced and there are new products now on the shelf specifically for ethanol blended gasoline. The list grow longer.
In my case, which I have often stated, I only use non-ethanol blended premium gasoline which forestalls any kind of the problems that are so often reported on this forum related to the use of ethanol blended gasoline.
Right now I pay $3.80 a gallon for gasoline.
How much are you paying for gasoline when you add in the price of the additive which seems to be morphing into a regular occurrence at gassing up time for many of our members here on the forum.
Just wanted to point this out!
