Rolled out of Roswell at 10. Wimps waiting for the sun to take some of the morning chill.  cooldude

North on roads I've travelled well but Ian hasn't.

Over Blood Mtn. Tried to park at the Neels Gap store but the leafers were out in force on 2 and 4 wheels.

A quick jog to the right by Helton Creek Falls. Leafers there as well

On the way to the Falls.

Water crossing after the falls

Next water crossing

On to Blairsville to see a few old Brit bikes but the location was closed.  Angry

On to Copperhead Lodge for lunch. Someone has spent a LOT of money on this business.
http://www.thelodgeatcopperhead.com/

There were a few bikers in the bar drinking and watching football.

The main firepalce in the great room had been taken over by a ruthless gang of ladies from the Macedonia Church Gospel Singers. No way we were going to tangle with them.

We opted to sit outside on the covered deck. It was strange that around the corner from were we sat the deck was in bright sunlight but no tables set up there.

Fried pickles were undercooked and if not for the seasoning tasteless.

Fried grit balls were tasty but oh if they had only had some chopped jalapeno in.

Burger was cooked more than my requested medium but good.

Bill for the above plus tax and 2 sweet teas was $32.

From sitting down to finding the waiter to pay the bill took 62 minutes. Hate to think how long it would take if the place was busy.

I'd go back.

Good covered parking

Dragged Ian over Old Bucktown Rs / Nimblewill Church Rd. on the way home.

He wasn't too happy cause he was on street tires. Having done it on street tires on the KLR I knew he could do it so lied about the degree of difficulty. After all he has been to darkest Alaska on his GS. This was a walk in the park by compariosn.

My God man you are becoming us.

The Red Neck is showing, Jeannie C Riley still performs down the road from one of the VRCC members.

Great shots and those ball grits looked very good.

You ani't nothing if'n you don't eat some grits from time to time.

Agian thanks for the rdie report and no I don't miss my KLR.

My Harley could do those water crossings with ease.

Cause cops around here are uesed to chasing criminals up roads like this on their Harleys.

Jeannie C Riley and Bobbie Gentry have great voices.

I'd been thru those crossings on my Valkyrie and ST 1300 before.  uglystupid2

Here is one that was running through the U.K. in 1966 and beyond.

Sort of period style.

1966 Vietnam was getting almost rolling and as a child I watched it everynight on The Network that had Walter Cronkite on it.

Damn what war that was.

We won the battles but lost the war of public opinion.

Great ride report, thanks for sharing it and the great pics. Man, the roads looked like they were a ball. Glad to hear you've been through there on the Valk, I thought it looked doable from the pics but that can be deceiving.

Jethro Tull and King Crimson are both on my "scooter tunes" too. I think "ladies of the road" and "easy money" from King Crimson. Somehow Tull's "living in the past" CD has gotten away from me. If I remember right the original was on a "double album set", you know what those were good for. Grin In case you haven't heard it, Ozzie does a great cover of one of King Crimsons songs, I think "21'st century schizoid man".

Thanks again for the ride report, between bow season, getting the deer camp ready and remodeling my house I'm not gettin' in much riding right now.
