Now that I am back in my home country state of Central Texas, I am starting to have a hankering for some Salt Lick BBQ. Can not do anything about for the next couple of weekends but after that?

Anybody else game?

We went once last year, out cruising the hill country for Thanksgiving weekend. Food was great and the place was much bigger than I had expected, especially out in the middle of (almost) nowhere. Just had to give it a try after the show on Man-vs-Food.

Not to mention that the roads to get there have some nice little twisties too!  cooldude We came in from Dripping Springs on FM 150 headed south. I especially liked the section of 150 south of the turn to get to Salt Lick (missed the turn, was too busy enjoying the ride -er- drive in the truck)

It was very good and I would like to go again, but for me, Cooper's in Llano is still #1. Especialy the smoked prime rib... (still gotta try the New Braunfels location)

Haven't been to Black's yet either, so still need to sample it all to make a final decision!!!
