These bikes we love ARE worth the extra effort and time and money to get and keep right or correct. As you may have figured out by now there is NO inbetween. We as Valkyrie riders and owners consider ourseves extremely fortunate blessed lucky whatever label you care to put on it to be a part of a Valkyries life. There are a LOT of motorcycles for sale in any given part of the U S of A. We as a group have chosen Valks. When i came to this board all i knew was it's a motorcycle. What i know now is it's a love affair. I have met exactly 2 people off of this board. But i will tell you this much-way more than 2 people offered help and suggestions with my new to me 1999 Valkyrie I/S. This very board we are on is THE reason my Valkyrie is running as good as it does and THE reason it will continue to run as good as it does as long as i'm still sucking wind. Didn't mean to rant as i ranted. Rant off. RIDE SAFE.

OK Big G, FWIW(probably not much ), it's good you were able to unload it for a quick profit. As for the ride, I'll grant you it's not the best I've ever ridden either(60+ yrs.), but when compared to other bikes I've had over the years....I'll take the Valkyrie when looking at the overall performance. On a more personal note, I'm in the Orlando area and would have liked to had a chance to work on the bike with you. I know I could have made a difference, but as you said....it's now a moot point. Or, as one of my daughters told me once years ago...."it's a mute point." When I asked about her use of terms, she simply told me "she didn't want to talk about it" hence the use of the term mute. As for the responses received, this bunch tend to answer in kind. If a person comes across in a harsh or derogatory manner, that's the kind of response that person will get. By the same token, we also have a tendency to joke with a person, some good-natured tongue-in-cheek comments are seen every day on this forum. Granted, we have 3-4 members that have the reputation of being contrary...every organization has them. They kinda fall in the category of "if you could buy them for what their opinion is worth, and sell them for what they think it's worth, we would have a very rich club." On the whole, we have some very talented mechanics, more so than most of the Honda dealers. Given a chance and with good input on a problem, they will get you to the source of that problem. Be well.

http://www.valkyrieforum.com/forum/vrcc_florida.cgiLooks like you're in Daytona Beach. Go on the local board and ask Debbi for the number of her shop. I lived there for 10 + yrs and had all my work done there. Don't have the # anymore. Good folks, ask for Steve and tell 'em Mike sent ya!! Hey Michael, are you talking to me? I'm not looking for a shop, but I am the only one I saw post from the Daytona area, except for John, and he's from Orlando. Sorry if it's not me our addressing. Man, this got to be a confusing thread! Yep, you're right! Guess my head's exploding today!! Big G is somewhere on the left coast from what I can see. The offer still goes tho, Steve's a good man. His shop's 1 street W. of the Honda dealership on Ridgewood in Dayt. I turned Debbie on to them years ago.

I'll sell my opinion, but I am NOT shipping overseas. Here's one for a limited-time special of only $14.99 (after $30.00 mail-in rebate): He gave me the he-bigG-bees from day one. I'll have to go with Britman on this one. (I take PayPal)

I had to chuckle over your post. In general, I also have to go along with Britman. As for the rest of my post, I think you know what/who I'm talking about. For the most part, if a person comes across as sincere and can take some ribbing, they'll do fine on this forum. But, as has often been shown here, if you come across with an attitude, you're not going to win.
Guess it's time we chalk this string up to a waste of our time and move on.

Me too. It should. I put it away right, with fuel stabilizer, fresh Synthetic Oil, a battery tender, and on my lift with the tires just up in the air. All that, plus in a ventilated garage, under a storage cover. It's worked in the past. Oh, btw, I hear Yalaha calling our names. See ya soon!

You refer to the Yamaha, remember it was redesigned 3 or 4 times and they still don't have it correct. I rode Yamaha from when the 1st Venture came out. Thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Had Quad bypass surgery, and laid in bed for 29 days, due to Surgeons screw up. Bought my Valkyrie 2 days after I was released. It has taken me 242K beautiful miles, to the 49 states I can ride it to, with NO major problems. Trust these people when they say old tires suck. I had some tires replaced on the road once, they wouldn't let me in the shop to look at the tires, wish now I'd of said leave my tread bare tires and back him out the door. I went from Prince George, BC to a shop in Idaho and had them replaced again. This time with tires not so old. So yes, old tires do ride rough. The Yamaha Ventures, had 3 of them and not a one of them will hold a candle to a Valkyrie. My old ridin buddy, RIP Frank, wouldn't ride anything except a Yamaha. One day he rode my Valk, and I did get a comment out of him that it was a nice bike, but for his little carcass it was too BIG. He died in Aug 2008 while I was at InZane and his wife still can't sell his bike. When he parked it, it was a beautiful ride, but his wife let it go to hell since then. She thinks it should bring new price. I'll bet you could buy it from her. If interested, send me a PM or respond here.

Oh, btw, I hear Yalaha calling our names. See ya soon!Oh yeah! Yeehaw...Yalaha! Some of the best German country baking around these parts. And it's all low calorie....really! Small world. My sister and brother-in-law used to live about a mile from there on Lake Harris. When my nephew left for college, they moved over to the other side of the Lake in Leesgurg. Have done a lot of boating and jet skiing on Lake Harris and have been to that bakery many times. http://www.yalahabakery.com/index.php

Sorry that Big G had problems, but the Valkyrie isn't for everyone. I seem to recall his earlier posts that indicated the seating position just didn't work for him and even if the ride had gotten smoother, it still wasn't a good fit. I have friends who swear the crotch rockets are comfortable to ride. Never seen them ride more than an hour, but that's what they think and that's fine. Myself - I can't stand the seating position. The way you have to lean over the tank conflicts with my optimum belly flop placement. I might find a bike I like better than the Valkyrie if I looked, but I ain't lookin'. I'm pretty happy with my I/S and Tourer. To each his own. Hope that Big G finds a bike he is more comfortable with and rides the wheels off of it. RainMaker

Arrogant......attitides........hard headed.........thinking the Valkyrie is the best...........ok, that all sounds normal.........I mean once you own a Valkyrie you have to sell it or you fall in love and become arrogant, hard headed and have a definite attitude about these bikes..........whats wrong with that?

Rainmaker, I think he would bitch if he was hung with a new rope.
Some people were just that way.
Like my old riding buddy, RIP Frank.
On trips and when on the super slab, with very little traffic, out West and before the Rockies, we used to do throttle roll ons. I'd let him drop 1 or 2 gears his choice and crank them on. His Yamaha never did go any harm to the Valk in this area. But, he told his STARS buddies, how he tore my Valk a new a'hole.
I happened to over hear him at a Star ride, and challenged him to a roll on. His excuses were, tire was low, he had a headache and couldn't think right, and a whole bunch of other crap.
Coming back from Sturgis one year, we were with 3 of his Stars buddies and they egged him on. He wouldn't run with me, but one of his STAR riders who had literally waxed his bare hind end, asked if he could try me out.
Told him yup per he could. We did a 50 MPH roll on, I was in 5th, his buddy was 2 gears under his top gear. He took me for the 1st 50', after that all he said he saw 'was MGM's balls swinging in the breeze & walking away with ease'.

You refer to the Yamaha, ... R.J., don't bother answering him. He's gone. Notice under his name the tag "Guest" rather than "Member"?
