Here is another video version of the song... it is moving.

The Lost Fitzgerald Search Tapespowered by Aeva

At the first Bellaire Inzane we rode up to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point on the shore of Lake Superior. http://www.shipwreckmuseum.com/

It was a very interesting place to visit and very informative as to the Edmund Fitzgerald and many other Great Lakes shipwrecks. One thing I learned was that a few of the crew of the Fitzgerald were from northeast Ohio, from towns just north of us.

The last message from the Fitzgerald was at 710PM to the ship Anderson.  The Anderson had the Fitzgerald on the radar at a distance of 9 miles and 25 miles from Whitefish Point.    The next sweep of the radar didn't show the Fitz.

One theory is that the Fitz hit a giant wave plunged like a submarine and broke in two when it hit bottom at over 500 feet.  The ship was found in two pieces.

Does the museum still play Gordon Lightfoot's song at the museum?  I haven.t been there for five years.
