Hi Fellas Looking To Add A Fairing On My Tourer. I seen a few but I would really like to keep the speedo & tach where they are, unless they could mount in a fairing. Not interested in mounting on handle bars at all.  I want to add speakers and a radio if this can be done. I'm totally lost here so any input would be appreciated. any pics would be great Thanks

The Tourer speedo & tach will mount quite easily in an Interstate fairing, but that's an expensive way to go for a fairing.

Woodys fairings are top notch and made of hand layed fiberglass (and he's a site sponsor too).  However, you gotta move the guages.  You can get the kit to move them at F6 Customs.

http://www.xf6-custom.com/valkpartspage.html

If you don't want to move your gauges and don't mind a plastic fairing, then Wide Open Customs would be my next choice.

Memphis Shades has their bat wing fairing, but it's only an outter shell fairing with no radio option (that I know of)....but you don't have to move your guages with the MS fairing either.

Or.....you could do alot of the work yourself and put together a Harley fairing. You'll have to buy an outter shell and the inner fairing section, remount the guages into the inner fairing, buy a trip-odometer cable and mount that (cheap & not that hard to do), fabracate mounts for it to mount to the bike and a hole bunch of other work.

Great pic, Walt!  That really looks great.

I have a MS Batwing.  While you don't need to move the speedo or tach (or motosens gauges), the internal flange that protrudes down from the base of the windshield does obscure the top of the factory gauges in their original positions.  I also wish the windshield were 2" wider on each side...

WOW Really confused now. Love the woodys but again I dont like the way it looks only because you have to mount the gauges on the handle bars.  Undecided

You can find both the inner and outter fairing sections on ebay all day every day......usually pretty cheap too.

I'm a little late to this post, but I did a write-up earlier this year as to how I mounted a Harley Batwing Fairing to the Valk.  If you don't mind the work, it is very gratifying to DIY.

Here are a couple of Pics I took today using my crappy phone, and it is overcast outside, but you get the idea.

You can see in the last pic how I have added tweeters in two of the gauge holes, and changed Radios since the original install.

Here is a link to my write-up.

Good Luck with what you do.

I forgot to add that IF I were to do this over again, I would PROBABLY do a Woody's fairing.  Easier install, more speakers, looks just as good, and I believe you could get a small tuner and still have the gauges in the fairing.  If you look at some of the pics on his site, you will see a custom bike that they mounted the gauges in the fairing.

One thing about the harley fairing that noone mentions, is that if you keep the factory speedo, you need to get a cable extension, and due to the radio location below the speedo, the cable gets bent very bad, I have already had it break once.  If it breaks again, I will have to convert to an electronic gauge. (doable, but $$)   When it is all said and done, the woodys fairing deals with these issues better than the harley fairing did for me.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE tinkering and DIY....I just want people to be informed.

Full Throttle.......

Looks very nice......almost factory.  Honda should have scrapped the Interstate and gone that route with the Valk.

And on the Woody's........I think I've read somewhere (maybe on Woody's site) that Glenn will do a custom fairing if you want.  You'll just have to wait longer (probably cost more too).  Glenn would be the one to ask though.

And you can spiffy up a Woody's fairing with some of these from Hoppe too....
