So why does the addition of an earring(s) automatically make them uncool?

I was gonna throw out Keith Richards as an example of a cool old guy with an earring, but I honestly don't know which side of the argument that would really argue in favor of!

Chuck Norris is a fraud. Bruce Lee whupped his ass. How did he become the legend of toughness?

Just remember you men with earrings....

Your "coolness factor" is inversely proportional to your age.

60 year old guys with earrings are just creepy.  Undecided

Do you have some special training on what is and is not cool? I'm near 60 and wear a earring big deal!! I'm also a biker and wear a Valkyrie patch. Sorry if it creeps you out but I don't give a sh*t on your preception of what is cool.
When I work side-jobs that involve checking IDs, etc, I usually ask the guys with holes in their ears that you can stick a finger through if they get many second interviews. Most of them take offense to this for some reason  police  2funny

Whoa there fella, guess we need a tongue in cheek font on this board as well. I was just mess'in with the codgers... bustin' chops a bit. Never thought anyone would take offense to the little fun-fest going on here! My bad.

Hope I don't get a reputation around here for rubbing people the wrong way. Would have to change my name to "hammer"... you know to go with "Anvil"  Wink

I'm old school. I was raised believing that earrings were a woman's thing. But nowadays, I see more and more macho types sporting one or more earrings. Opinions are all over the place on this one but I was wondering what the general forum consensus was and whether or not those who wear earrings might be concerned that others may think something's not quite right with you.

Just go for it if you want one,.. cooldude Cheesy

I have the thought like mr. JABA here..JMHO..and all that ,,I would never have one-- but that doesn't doesnt make them good ,,,or bad,, as far as Im concerned...

Ok, here is a perfect topic to get flamed over.  Once was a time, ear rings were worn mostly by women.  People worked one job for almost their whole life.  Couples stayed married, raised good honest kids, while working hard to save and get ahead.  Americans loved their country, and their leaders did also.  Actually, I thought it was a much better place than it is now.  Then men start wearing ear rings, it is ok for men to marry men, woman to marry women, married couples split for any ole reason, people skip from job to job, depending on who has the best parachute for after they bankrupt the company, and our leaders are out to bleed the country dry and get rich at the expense of our grandchildren, and the leader of our country, and especially his wife, openly hate the very country they rule.  Sorry, but it is our Political Correctness, and acceptance of things that are wrong that have started, and are fueling the downfall of this country.

If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.

:uglystupid2:I guess you are standing for no male earring wearing.  Since ear rings caused all our social, political and economic woes, ear rings should be outlawed.

Yeah it's a slippery slope- one day you get a earring, the next day you are divorcing your wife, quitting your job and exercising your golden parachute.

he did "handle himself" pretty well when he was arrested in the adult theater in sarasota in '91 for indecent exposure.   Grin Grin Grin
