Will it work ??  I found a OEM windshield as shown .... no other hardware. I currently have a MS windshield and hardware (NOT quick disconnect) on my bike. Would I be able to hook up this OEM shield to my MS fork mounts ??

Thanks, Sodbuster

I would have to say no because the Tourer shield does not have all the mounting bolts that the MS does...particularly the ones on the upright parts that would allow them to bolt together.

In order to keep from cobbling up something, I'd get the p/n's together (3 pieces involved) and call Pinwall to see if they have those parts available. New, they run about $150, but I'm sure you could find some used for less.

There's a complete set of all three parts needed on Ebay right now. Only about 20 hrs. to go but the bids are only at $5.50 right now. Wait until the last 10 seconds and bid it up.

Only $75 for the windshield as shown? Jump on it fast, especially if the plastic is in good shape.

I too had the same situation, parts of the WS mounts were missing plus I also did not have the front turn signal clamps. I ordered the Kewlmetal light bar/windshield mounts and signal standoffs to get both. Worked out to about the same cost as buying all the missing OEM parts for me, and since you have the turn signal mounts it may be a little high, but just tossing out options.

The whole conversation about the price of NEW mounting brackets, I believe, is academic. I don't think Honda is making them anymore. I know you can't get the windshield from them.

It looks like the Tourer shield has uprights very similar to the MS hdwe .... sure looks like I could detach the MS shield from the MS forks bands and bolt up the OEM shield ??

I had my windshield off the bike to polish the dashboard and as a still unemployed carpenter
I took the opportunity to dust off my tape measure (pic above). It appears tht the brackets
on the OEM windshield are spaced wider apart than the brackets on the Mephis Shades.
I've jotted down the relevant measurements on the graphics below. This way if you saved the
graphics it'll spare you the trouble of having to search for the post again.

The OEM windshield brackets are spaced apart 14-7/8 inches inside-to-inside. Or, they stick
out pass the forks by 1-1/8 inch at both sides horizontally. The bracket mounts shown in
the lower half of the pic above are likewise spaced 14-7/8 inches outside-to outside and have
the same 1-1/8 inch offset horizontally out from the forks. In your pic the mounting bands for
the Memphis Shades appear to be about flush with the forks meaning the MS bracket spacing
is narrower. I guess you could use spacers to adjust for the wider OEM bracket spacing and
so forth.

Vertically the two holes on the OEM windshield brackets are spaced 6 inches apart center-to-center.
The top hole has to be set 1-inch below the bottom surface of the top triple tree bridge. That
elevation is your benchmark from where the '6 inch spacing' starts. You only have between 3/8 inch
to 1/2 inch clearance around circumference of the headlight for the headlight to fit through the
cutout in the OEM windshield. I'm unclear whether the MS fork bands strap a nonexpanding
one-piece mounting bolt bracket or two separate bolt brackets, one for the top bolt and another for
the bottom bolt.

This measurement probably isn't important but standing on the side of the bike, the bracket
holes are approximately tangent with an imaginary line drawn between the front of the hex bolts on
the fork caps. Judging by your pic above the MS brackets line up identically to the OEM placement.

All I can say is WOW .... VERY gracious of you to take the time to do that !! I was wondering my self what those dimensions were and now I know .... GOOD JOB !!!!

From your pics and relevant dimensions, I feel pretty confident that it will bolt right up with some kind of spacer. I have access to a few good machinists for anything that needs to be special made.

Thanks again and good luck on your job search. I finally found a job myself after being laid off for 36 weeks.
