I am shopping for a front tire for my I/S.

I have a new rear 200mm Metz 880, and would like a Metz up front.

My Question is do i Buy a Radial or bias ply.

I see both available for the I/S.

What are the differences between the radial and bias ply?

Thanks for any Input

I have the Metz 880 radial on the front. The rear is D/S General Ultimax H P 205-60-16. I'm liking this combination for ME. Keeping the front at 42  44 P S I after 11000 miles it still looking good. For ME the Metz up front is a good choice. We have people using radial and/or bias. I beleive they came with radials originally. If i'm wrong someone WILL correct me. RIDE SAFE.

I use a Dunlop D404F 150/17 bias, along with a Dunlop American Eagle bias in 165/16, good for 20k on the pair.I'm on my second set.  I had the bias on front and a 170/16 Dunny elite 3 radial on the back at first. It road and handled fine, but was considerably more expensive that the bias. I have 15k on the pair on it now, about 50% worn.  About 95 bux for the front and 150 bux for the rear from Jake Wilson.  Hoser  cooldude

last front was a metz, I like the continental Conti-Go rear tire 130/90-17 V-rated tire on the front much much better.

Yeah it's generally inadvisable to mix radial and bias-ply.

My front is a Dunlop D404 rear bias ply tire. 13K miles and more than 1/2 tread left, only $109.00 delivered. Quiet, smooth and not bad in the rain (and I saw a LOT of rain). Rear is a Falken CT.

Yeah it's generally inadvisable to mix radial and bias-ply.

some bikes come from the factory that way, like some older BMWs and lately a few Victory bikes. there also were a few japan bikes over the yrs.
but it was always radial rear and bias on the front and never the other way.

Ditto, that, ran the bias front and rear radial for 15k on the fatlady before going bias both ends.  no difference in the ride.  cooldude hoser

Jakewilson.com can beat Bike Bandit pricing on your front tire by quite a bit. I use them all the time.

Just ordered the Metz 880 Radial 150/80/17 V-rated on Directlineparts.com

They were offering 10% off all items over $100 till 12/1/11 Midnight Coupon code (Thanks)

Saved $18.80

Got the tire for $176.69 Shipped Smiley

I know the bias ply is about $60 cheaper, but I already have the 200mm Metz radial on the rear
and wanted to get the radial in the front.
