Worked over the weekend so thought I would take a short ride on the bike.  About 2 miles from home and about 1/2 block from intersection I could see smoke, steam and metal flying around.  I pulled up and parked on sidewalk to see if I could help.   A couple people were getting out of cars and sitting on sidewalk.  I went up to check them, make sure someone called 911 and checked on people in cars.  This is after emergency arrived (now Valk related with pic).

A witness I later spoke to said he saw the red coupe run two red lights and got T-boned by Hummer in intersection.  Knocked red coupe into Mercedes that was stopped at light and it was shoved into big work truck.   The young driver of the coupe was sitting on curb with gash on forehead but OK.  His two passengers were trapped in the car.  Hummer ended up on top of coupe.

Guy in front seat of coupe was bloody and out of it when I went up.  Guy in back seat was screaming and both trapped in car.  Lady in Hummer was sort of in shock, but talking OK and didn't seemed too badly injured so I went back to guys in coupe.

Front seat guy was now awake and moaning but no way myself and bystanders were getting them out.  3 firetrucks and ambulances arrived and they took about 30 - 40 minutes to stabilize and cut them out with Jaws of Life.  Seemed everyone was going to make it OK.  Passenger probably with a few broken bones and lacerations.

Feel bad for everyone except the a..hole running the lights who got minor laceration on forehead.  They did transport him on backboard and C-spine precaution but he seemed OK when I first talked to him when I arrived and no complaint of neck pain.

I always try to scan intersections as I approach, but am sure glad I wasn't a few seconds faster today when that carnage happened in front of me.

You can scan and pay attention and have your head on a swivel.  :coolsmiley:But all of us know-i a-hole like that(use your own adjective here)WILL screw up an otherwise fine day.  uglystupid2 I would like to think all my years af truck driving some racing and being very familiar with my Valkyrie makes me hopefully a better rider.  Wink I would like to believe that.  coolsmiley Maybe-maybe not.  Roll Eyes There be far too many(your adjective time again)folks not paying attention too anything-much less us on 2 wheels or 3.  crazy2 Old or young-THEY are aiming at us.  cooldude Apoligies for the hijack.  Smiley Rant off-fer now.  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.
