I grew up squirrel hunting. Never thought about it being so important.

I ate alot of squirrel growing up.

I much prefer deer or rabbit but squirrel does make the best gravy and dumplings that you will ever eat.

Only squirrels I've seen lately are stuffing their faces in the trash cans.  Not opposed to try them some day, but maybe ones with a better idea of cuisine.

I only eat them from the farm, down aways surrounded by oaks. hickories and black walnuts. Away from rodentcides  and other nasties. Make good mexican food ! Now is a good time to hunt them!

Although, I grew up in the city, once I joined the military, I was exposed to "other" foods.  Squirrel, to me, tastes just like pot roast, just more bones.
