Race definitely enters in to it, however... I think far more people voted for him just because of his race than voted against him because of it...
I've often been confused how it's morally any different to vote FOR someone because of their race than it is to vote AGAINST someone because of their race... IMHO both are just as bad...

Update: The hearing was held, and nothing was resolved. Orly Taitz ran her same old tired song and dance, and the judge had to cut her off during closing arguments. In any event, it won't be the judge that makes the final decision whether or not Obama can be on the ballot in Georgia, it will be Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp who will make the decision. The following comment was made regarding that decision. At any rate, the final decision is Kemp's. Regardless of what Malihi recommends, Kemp does not want to become the Republican secretary of state who ruled Barack Obama off the ballot in Georgia. Becoming a birther hero would not begin to compensate for the lasting infamy such a step would bring him, especially because such a ruling would be challenged in state or federal court and almost immediately overturned on any number of reasons. Kemp would then look like a fool and put an end to any further political ambitions he might have. I doubt that’s the course he will choose to take.

I hate to break it to some of you guys, but race IS a factor in why some people have been hateful towards Obama. Like it or not, it's a factor. Maybe not a big one in the grand scheme, but it's there.
It may be for a few people, but why do liberals call ANYBODY that disagrees with Obama's policies racist? That is the first thing they throw out. witness SE's post above. MP "Liberals", whoever they are, don't call ANYBODY racist that disagrees with Obama's policies. I think they do a pretty good job of calling the racists "racist", however. I merely pointed out that there are still quite of lot of people in this country that have a problem with a black man in the White House... and no, I don't want to start the argument as to whether he is black or white. Fact is, Southern whites voted Democratic for generations, until the Republican party made a conscious decision to ride the backlash of the civil rights movement. Reagan talked of welfare queens in Cadillac's... he didn't mention race... he didn't need to. The rallying call of "states rights" never specifically mentioned segregation... it didn't need to... Southern rights understood this was a response to federal legislation requiring racial equality. Reagan described the voting rights act as, "humiliating to the south". Don't think this is true? Look at the anti-Muslim bigotry that Republicans stir up and that quite a few members of these forum lap up by the plateful. Red meat for white men? Look at the welfare queen revised... again, culling from posters on this board, it is the "Mexicans", "wetbacks", and "illegal immigrants" that cost so much welfare... and name be a Republican in the debates that hasn't opposed welfare and unemployment insurance... look at Gingrich... cheers over racially tinged comments... more red meat for white men? Outside the southern states, white males vote Democrat at a 40 percent rate, mostly unchanged since 1952. Democrats won the popular vote for the House overall, but Southern whites voted Republican 2 to 1. Circumstantial? Maybe... then again... Republican party historians have made note of the fact that the African American vote was lost in the south, and the only way to strip the white vote away from the Democrats was through civil rights and welfare. Seems to have worked. Thus, I'd say far more people voted against him because of race, than those that voted for him.

SE sounds like the he is still in the battle for the south more than likely from being out of the country for so long and living with Muslims he cant see them as their religion forces them to be the scourge of the west they are not our friends. Or the fact that blacks had no idea what Obama stood for yet he was the one that they overwhelmingly voted to be president. While whites pretty much voted conscious. {Reverse discrimination} We needed a change and we got it yup right in the hind quarters thanks to potus. He should not be above the law and its funny how the courts and Congress drag their feet on this birther issue. If its not true then let Congress put it to rest or the courts once and for all. They jump right in when anyone sues for a broken toenail why not this??? Red meat???? anti Muslim bigotry, racist????? give it a ###### break. Since Se maintains tri citizen ship not a US born citizen and has much the same feelings and ideas and history as the potus I can understand his allegiance to the pres while living and working in another country not a US citizen by birth not subject to the acts he himself condones. I dont think I have been as repulsed by anyone in a long time maybe except for George Soros. This is name calling at its finest SE you outdid yourself on this one. Derogatory Descriptors laced in with misguided reason posing as fact laced in with some fact makes for a very slimy argument.

I call a spade a spade. You on the other hand are so biased and very slyly put your little slanders in there that it amazes me that you cannot see it yourself. You do have so much in common with Obama so its no wonder that he is the one you would defend. Kinda feels like defending yourself doesn't it? Yup and I love Jesus partly because He called the religious leaders of the day white washed tombs. He called a tomb a tomb maybe thats why you cant bide by what He says? Jesus said to many go to your father the father of all lies for in him there is no truth for he was a liar from the beginning. As with Jesus and the 3 temptations in the desert there was a quoting of distortion on words and lack of understanding. I kinda see the same in your ideas HUMMMMM? Lets just make one more thing understood, I am not good of my own making!!! I have been down many roads in my life and have seen many smooth snakes with all kinds of stories helped the devil on a few occasions maybe thats why I dont have the stomach for the stuff you dish out. I know the roads you profess and could meet you at any crossroad but I know who rescued me. I am not someone who was raised in church. I truly was bought by Blood.

Robert, you might find that your point comes across better if you separate your thoughts into paragraphs.
Also, calling someone's national loyalty into question and then in the same breath taking issue with them as a "name caller" is kind of funny. Just take the high road.
Lots of Americans hold multiple citizenships/passports. I just recently graduated a student who was born and raised in Ukraine. At 17 he came here and at the age of 19 he joined the Army and served the USA in Iraq. He earned his citizenship by putting his ass on the line. Is there something wrong with that?

If Obama walked into an ice house in Jasper, Texas, what race do you think he would be? I said it before and I'll SAY it again............. YOU are the RACIST here. "Liberals", whoever they are, don't call ANYBODY racist that disagrees with Obama's policies. I think they do a pretty good job of calling the racists "racist", however.
SEE ABOVE RESPONSE Don't think this is true? Look at the anti-Muslim bigotry that Republicans stir up and that quite a few members of these forum lap up by the plateful. I seem to recall G.W. Bush calling for Americans NOT to respond angrily against Muslims after 9/11. He stood with Muslim American leaders and said that they weren't responsible for the attacks and were our "friends". If I remember correctly he was a Republican. Thus, I'd say far more people voted against him because of race, than those that voted for him.
If this were true then John McCain would be the president, not Obama. I don't think I've seen a more worthless "stream of consciousness" post in a long, long time. Pure drivel. I was going to respond... then... what for? I hate to burst your bubble but you did indeed respond. and BTW why is it that any response that you don't agree with is "Drivel" ? And Robert... what about you?... the good, devout Jesus humping Christian that you are... is this post worthy of Jesus? Please explain why YOU feel entitled to commit BLASPHEMY ? Perhaps it is because YOU don't believe in the Christian message. If you don't then that is OK, it is your decision. Just know this: By ridiculing Christians and Blaspheming their God, YOU are NO BETTER than the Muslim "Haters" that you previously "Railed" against in your recent post. And if your above post isn't a DIRECT ATTACK on another member of this forum then I don't know what is.

I would say this, that citizenship is more where you live, join other people, make your life and fall in with others even to defending that very country sometimes maybe even against where you were born. Not giving oneself a alternate route out, committed, kinda like, till death do us part type of thing. I have friends that are dual citizenship some because thats how the laws work and others because thats how they count on the law to work,in case. This commitment brings like minded thinking looking out for the countries best even with different views on how to do that. Diversity is not the problem selfishness is.
