Just a word of warning to thous like me that have them. Don't check your tire pressure unless your next to a compressor!  Angry

Twice now my core has gotten stuck open by the Dynabeads when i was checking my pressure before a ride. The first time I thought I just had a bad core, and swapped it out with a spare. when it happened again I removed the core and worked it a few times and out came two beads.  tickedoff

Sure glad found this out before I checked pressure at some hotel this summer.  Roll Eyes

Yup, they recommend a squirt of air before checking the pressure. I've been following that and have been good do far.

The filtered valve cores are too long to fit in our 90 degree valve stems. Great idea though to use them where you can.

Yep the web site and instructions warned me about that.  I did it once, never again.  I love my Dynabeads though.  I would never use anything else for my bike now.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

That would suck to dig out a air compressor to check your PSI while on a trip.  Undecided

I think that they reccommend putting a squirt of air in after you check the air pressure.  if you put it in before you check, and then gauge the pressure, the beads can now hold the valve open.

When I check my air pressure the valve is at 6 o'clock. The dyna beads are on the bottom of the tire. I am not sure how the heavy little bastages can rise while checking the pressure.

Probably doesn't apply to bikes quite as much, but checking cage and semi tires when the temps are around freezing can stick the cores open as well.

i had a tiny "bead" stuck in my tire valve also once.  had to take out the valve and use a needle to pull the bead out.  don't check your tire pressure and you won't have that problem  Cheesy (just joking....)

i carry a valve tool now with me.  a buddy of mine has a tiny air compressor, loud thing, but works great when you're on the side of the road with no gas station around.  just have to remember to have him with me when i go riding!!

I have stopped using them for that reason, always having leaks unless the valve stem caps were cranked down tight. I was putting air in my tires twice a week!

Since I changed tires six months ago and omitted the Dynabeads I have only aired up once.

It is best to check the tire pressure when the valve stem is at 3 or 9 o'clock.  I haven't had a problem when checking pressure at those angles.  Now at 6 o'clock, yes all the time....  You might try that...

I love the beads I have them in my car tires.... ON MY CAR TOO...  that is  cooldude
