Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

« on: February 17, 2012, 05:08:23 PM »

Pretty cool when I rolled out this morning hit the road around 9:00 and went and had a nice sit down breakfast.Rolled out Hwy.360 into Tellico Plains and made a left onto The Cherohala Skyline. What a great pass did'nt see another motorcycle and only ( 1 ) pick-up truck. Cut down through Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest and hit US 129. Again did'nt see another motorcycle all the way to Deal's Gap.

I made two passes across The Dragon and it was mine no traffic whatsoever some folks in a Buick from South Carolina was the only car I came up on and they hit the first pull over they came too letting me roll on.Seriously folks if you want to do The Dragon either to test or hone your skills or maybe you just dig the adrenaline rush like I do...Now is the time to come before the rest of the world get's here in the spring.

Chilhowee Dam was cookin' today down on the lake.

Hit The Foothills Parkway and again it was mine I did talk to a couple Harley riders that had trailered down from Hickory, North Carolina.

It was a beautiful day in the hood with sunshine and temps near 60. I got in 255 miles and its rare I ride alone but today I really enjoyed just being out and doin' my own "thang ".Below " The Money Shot " taken at mile marker 4 on US 129 The Dragon .

Dude, I am SO envious of you, getting to go out and ride in that beautiful country at will.  PLEASE, look for a small house with a large garage for me to buy as a retirement home.  Keep increasing the size of your carbon footprint.

Great report Joe.

I'm thinking about riding up to see Wimp.  Are you home pretty much every weekend?

We could share the wind.

What do you think?

Great ride Smokin...

Any place there to hire a bike....? I'm thinking of coming over from England with She Who Must Be Obeyed...

Would be looking for a Goldwing or something like that I guess.. as the Valk won't fit on the plane...

Perhaps one week with a bike and one with a car...

Cheers

Always enjoy your ride reports, Joe.  You seem to have an "eye" for pics.  You should try to get some of them published.
I just wish I lived closer to those roads so I could ride them all the time like y'all do.

Keep up the good work.
See y'all in AR.
