A bad map and a long ride in Northern New Mexico!

Anyone that is on the fence about this area, consider it.  I have been thru there several times, and though not an expert, it is a great area to ride in.   I am doing my best to shuffle my work to make it, and I don't go to things as a rule.  But this one, and InZane are good areas that I know, and they are worth attending.

Hopefully, I will see a few of you at Las Vegas, NM in a couple of weeks.....   provided, the checks come in, the step daughter doesn't murder me, creek doesn't rise, my ex wife doesn't sue me for something, i.e. it will be a last minute, omg, I can go thing.

Have a great weekend!

Made it last year, but can't this time... Got another grandson graduating from high school down in Florida, and my daughter has already issued the command for my attendance... Next year another graduation looms down there... so that one ain't lookin' so good either... Oh well, you reap what ya sow, I reckon...

Memorial Day is getting closer, if you plan on attending and haven't signed up, please do so, so we can get a head count for the Sunday BBQ. F6Banger and I put together a tenative schedule for the weekend, look forward to seeing folks in a couple of weeks.

Friday 5/25
Ride in, Meet and Greet

Saturday 5/26
Breakfast is on your own.
Ride through Northern NM, KSU at 9:30, this will be about a 4 to 5 hr ride covering about 200 miles, we will find a place in Taos for lunch.
Dinner your on your own.
Evening will be hanging out kicking tires and telling lies.

Sunday 5/27
Breakfast is on your own.
We are planning a short ride to see some of the local sites.
BBQ Lunch at the Hotel.
Evening will be hanging out kicking tires and telling lies.

Monday 5/28/12
Say good-bys and head home? I think a few of us might head home through Red River to pick up a T-Shirt from the rally.

My wife and I are still on the line about this one.  We discussed it tonight, trying to iron out scheduling conflicts.   It will probably be a literal last minute decision for us.  But, I am servicing the Valk this weekend, and getting ready.

We have not signed up yet, keep waiting for the hammer to fall that prevents us from going....

My Obsession

Sad  Sadly I made Kendall's hotel reservations today for the Ride-In.  As I feared --- my schedule has changed here in the last 2 weeks and I can't go.   tickedoff

I love my job -- and am damn thankful for it (under the circumstances of how things are in our economy these days) --- wasn't a matter of vacation request approval -- hell I had that already.

But the client in Nevada has a conflict and after all my shuffling they still managed to book me to be onsite on Tuesday morning after Memorial Day.  So not only will Kendall be on the road for our anniversary -- I'll be here alone --- when he returns I'll be gone again  Undecided

I just can't see how I can physically handle the 12 hr ride to NM Friday, turn around and ride 12 hrs back on Sunday (which would mean Kendall and I would head out first thing Sunday morning BEFORE the main BBQ and fun) to have me home to fly to Nevada on Monday.  Plus I don't want him to miss out on all the fun & fellowship, come home so I can leave -- leaving him home alone.     I just don't see it.

I'm pissed and am going to miss everyone --- but I can't afford to drop the ball on a new client --- it just is what it is  Sad

Signed up today, and made reservations.   May have to leave sunday afternoon, but we are heading that way this evening.   Will spend the night in Fritch, TX and then move towards Las Vegas, Nm tomorrow morning, should be there late morning, or early afternoon.  Depends on the scenic route or the direct route...

Hope to see everyone there!
