The truth is you have almost no chance against a criminal. The criminal will have a gun to the head of the armed citizen before the armed citizen even realizes what is happening. At that point, the armed citizen will not dare try to reach for his gun. The criminal, besides securing the money he are after, will also take the armed citizen’s gun. Remember Ronald Reagan......he had 6 highly trained Secret Service agents at his side. I believe that I have a better chance of getting hit by your stray inacurate bullet than from any criminal. Law enforcement generally agrees with me. But hey, go for it. Its your right.
That's so stupid I feel dumber for having read it. You know little to nothing of how these encounters usually happen. And law enforcement does not generally agree with you. Hinkley hid himself in the press corp, they learn from their mistakes same as all of us. if you walk around with your head down or video chatting in a bad neighborhood then yes the bad guy will get the drop on you. on the other hand keep situationally aware and you will see the bad guy coming.

I carry. I practice.
I often don't concealed carry though as I find it difficult to find a way to do so that I am happy with. Everything is either visible or really uncomfortable for me. I tend to carry mine in a soft briefcase. with another in the console of my car. I have to go into some sketchy neighborhoods sometimes and into abandoned buildings. I am NOT going unarmed.
I go to a place for lunch sometimes called the Tie-Dye Cafe in Indianapolis. It's a cop hang out. And the Owner there open carries. We make a game of it... "How may 'pieces' are there in the room right now?" The count was always around 10 or 12. Until I talked to the Owner one day about it, commenting to him that I am a fan and appreciate the gun friendly business. He told me that almost EVERY employee was packing as well, to the tune of 5 or 6 more that I had not accounted for. Now... I realize that there are some of ya'll that would run for the hills from this place... even with their hippy music and decor. Me... it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. If some scumbag dumbass ever decides to rob THAT place... whoo-BOY he's gonna be in for a BAD day.

Great info Jabba. The next time I'm in Indianapolis I'll try and go the Tie Dye Cafe to support their business.
Thank You,
Mark
