while reading oil filter thread

I was wondering, the book say change dino oil every 8000 miles. I use synthetic and it is supposed to last 15000 miles. When I change my oil, I change the filter. At around 5000 miles I change the filter and top off the oil. Then the next 5000 I change the oil and filter.
What do you guys do.

Mobil 1 synthetic and a Purolator Pure One filter (PL14610). Change at 10,000 miles. Last summer I left for Nova Scotia from AZ on my Wing. It had 5K on the oil when I left. Changed it when I came back with over 13K on the oil. It still looked and felt smooth/clean.

Amsoil 10W-40 MC oil. Supertech or Purolator filter. 10,000 miles or every spring whichever comes first.

I change my Mobil 1 and filter once a year. I ride average 11,000 miles a year. My oil looks like it did when it went in. No real reason to change it sooner.

I do about the same as Michvalk. Oil & filter once a year; about 10-12K.
