P.I. accidents (these people just can't drive) with extrications and several house fires have me up all times of the night and most of the day. Not ignoring ya RJ just haven't been here much. Only the past few days has things started to free up. Oh, thanks for the nice stretch of weather, preciate it!

That's alright Hoot, we know ya has been in hibernation. LOL.
Know about the P.I.'s. We used to get a boat load of them on Donner pass at the start of the winter, then they re-learned how to drive on snow, packed snow, and also how drive with chains on. You'd be stunned by the # of drivers who tried to drive 50 & above on chains. It is not a wise practice.
Then it would settle down, come spring, it was another learning curve for them to learn how to drive on wet pavement. We used to get a good share of rain in the Mtn in the spring, I should say usually we'd get rain unless it was going to be a drought year. Then the cement rivers were dry.
Snow in the Mtn and rain in the spring was what kept LA in water for the year. The cement rivers let it run down to their reservoirs.

We ran a house fire this morning at 2:57 am. It was a little chilly. Water and this cool weather we are having is a little difficult. On my way to the scene I had - 19 in my truck. Not a good day to be drinking coffee on the deck. I'd love to ride but I thhink I will wait. You are supposed to be sending me some 50 degree stuff next week I think?

RJ---Thanks for the rain! This should get rid of some of the salt and sand off the road. First hard rain is a good thing plus it cuts down on the grass / brush fire potential. I've been on the bike I think 3 times and the furthest I've gone has been 30 miles. Someone asked me where I've been? Been a busy week and a half. I've worn my guys out to say the least. If you should get a minute Google Allegan Metal Finishing fire and you will see why I've been MIA. What a mess! You can't prepare for something like this and it was a long bad day. I feel bad for the owners, the employee's and the community as well. Saved the buisness 20' away and no one was hurt. That in itself was a God send!

Damn Bro, that looks like it was a mess to handle.
In my tenure of an LEO, bouncing around California, I only had like 3 fires of that magnitude. It was a bitch to handle a lot of the residents who got evacuated.
Only remember one elderly lady who I had to haul off to jail cause she wouldn't listen. She was released almost as quick as I brought her in. Her Church stepped up to the plate on that, then they kept her out of trouble for about 3 weeks. She was as stubborn as a mule.
She told me later, if I'd of had a gun I'd of killed you that day.
We had a super large fire here last year in downtown Des Moines take off and wiped out the store, full block and scorched several buildings around the area. They are now in the process of restoring some of the building. Rest of building will probably become a parking lot, if the City Council doesn't stop being a horse's ass over anything submitted for approval.

Evac was tough business and handled by my old City P.D. the Sheriffs Dept, + Michigan State Police. They did a great job and I got to see some of the guys I used to work with. Then came the wait on the power company, gas company, the DEQ and the EPA and the national Guard to finish their investigation of run off and air quality. Air and water investigation didn't take long to do, it was getting ready to do it. You know the gig, hurry up and wait! Bon, Sorry if this disturbes ya..... RJ and I have a lot in common. It's how I stay in touch with him, he is a brother retired

That hurry up and wait started in my old football days.
Coach wanted us in the field house as soon as possible.
Then we had to wait for the truck that hauled the uniforms.
Only school I knew that did this way of transporting items.
Went in the service and it got worse.
Every thing we did was hurry up and wait.
When I got my discharge from the Marine Corps, I stated I would not stand in another line for anything.
Well that didn't last long.
To this day I still stand in line for something, like grocery store, today it was the Dr's office. YUPPER, I is a gettin tired of this sheet.
Stay safe on them severe fires Bro., I lost a couple of buddies in a building fire in San Francisco in 1953. Our base was just around the corner from the fire and all we could do was watch from our post(s).

Goin down hill fairly fast the last few months.
Both Trikes are no longer mine. I still have the Harley Servi-Car. I'll probably sell it to my son also for a dollar. If I just up and give them to the kids, the County declares it's market value and then you pay Sales tax (6%) on the figure.
Son bought the Valkyrie and daughter bought the Chevy Trike.
Sold each one for $1.00. Court House raised hell case they only got $.06 Sales tax on the deal.
Then the Trike had a VIN # that would not process, so we had to have the DOT come in and verify that YES that was the VIN # on the bike.
So now DOT is deciding whether they are going to issue it a DOT VIN #, or just bang this one through.
Good thing I never dated eith Title or my arse could be in trouble for not getting it transfered in the legal amount of time.

RJ and Hooter, that is bad news. RJ, I would imagine that was damn hard to do. Same for you, Hooter. Although I started my Vstrom, I've yet to ride it and I'm not sure after the problem with my left knee. I know that the cortisone shot in my left knee won't last forever. Again, really sorry to hear that. RJ, hang in there. I really don't want to get in the last word Wayne, solo1

Thanks Wayne.....Haven't given up yet at all. IF I don't sell it I will definitely take care of it. We all know that we have to do things we don't want to and this is one of those times. To get older and have things like this slow you down is kind of disheartening. I'm not going to leave the forum at all. You guys are too entertaining for that and the family is bigger than most other forums I belong to. GOOD PEOPLE HERE! RJ and I share a common bond. We were both for the better parts of our adult lives. I have never met the man (RJ) but feel as though I know him through the forum, and I think that is what this is about. Plus he sends me all the crappy weather he doesn't want across the pond. There are a handful of us here that still use this post as a communication goofy as it gets at times. I think it irritates some people but I don't care. I don't know Jimmy either but again, I know him a little better through something as simple as this post.

Hooter, I know what you mean. RJ, Lady Draco, and myself had the temp board to ourselves and talked about many things. Now the temp board is unusable and Lady Draco (Tracy) doesn't frequent the main board much. She uses her husband's computer (Highbinder, Don)when she does. Your town is well remembered by me. I first went bow hunting in your area in 1946. Many more years were spent hunting in the Grayling/Lewiston area because of my start in Allegan area. I have talked to RJ in person many times and I won't mention how we get along, he might get a swelled head

Aw come on Wayne, me get a swelled head, where did you get that idea?
LOL.
Yupper, Wayne is good people. He fixed me lunch one day when I went cruising through his area on my way to pick up my Valkyrie neon sign I got from a dealer in oHIo.
In the process, we had a good chat.
He also has a couple of boys who ride Valkyries that are super good people. They stopped over here one night on their way to California to deliver the side hack and to pick up a Pontiac automobile.
Was glad to have them.

I sold 2 of my trikes last week.
Will be transferring the titles later this week or early next week.
So far I haven't missed either one of them.
Had a guy from somewhere around the Texas/New mexico border call and offered me a healthy sum for the Harley ServiCar.
Responded back and told him to bring CASH.
I'm still waiting.

Thanks for the offer Roger, I will keep it in mind. I won't be bikeless I have 3 and the Valk is the one that can't set for too long. The other 2 are "H"s so the vtwins can take some time to be gone. I will never get rid of my Springer. Too much can go wrong with these things (Valks) if they set. Has been my favorite to ride. It is the smoothest scooter ever along with a wing.

I remember when I first tried out the Valk with the sidecar. I almost ended up in the neighbor's yard across the street!
My first thought was "I've ruined the Valk!
My second thought a year later was it doesn't bank and that took all of the fun out of it for me.
Now it's either four wheels (the Miata worked out nicely) or two but not three.

Hey RJ, Got any photos of that Chevy trike? Like to see a resembalance to a Boss Hoss trike. Mine is like the 2nd one. Burple one. Mine is yellow/Black. http://www.renegadetrikes.com/This Company bought out Cobra when Henry Ford sued them for using the Cobra name. Well actually it had 3 or 4 names before Renegade got in the toss up. Here he is at the Honda plant in Maryville for IZ3. Engine started life as a truck 350. It is now a 'stroker' 390/400 fully balanced. We have tried to calculate the Cubic inch and we get in the neighborhood of 390 to 400. To achieve this size, it was bored into water, and then sleeved back. My memory is gone on this but I think it figured out to .110 over. Pistons had to be made special to fit it. Rings are from a Cadillac, 78 or 79 vintage. 57 Chevy Fuel Injection double hump heads ported, polished and enlarged valves. It was set up for a blower, but I never went that route. 1st engine was a 454 Chevy. 2nd engine was a Pontiac 3800 V6 3rd engine was a 307 Chevy. 4th engine was the one in there now. 4th engine was at the machine shop 4 times till we got this engine. It currently has 209,795 miles on it. In all of these miles it was only on a flat bed once. That was when I broke all the lugs bolts doing 90 MPH on the I-S headed to Denver. Got it towed into town to a Motel. Parts store was just across the street, went over borrowed a hammer and punch, bought 5 studs and 7 stock lug nuts. Put the 5 new studs in. put the wheel on and the next morning I headed for home. Got there, redid all the lug bolts in both wheels, buttoned her up and headed to Las Vegas to met up with the Hot Rod Power Tour attendees. I think it was Kansas City where I finally got registered in the Power Tour. Went from there to the Drag Strip by St Louis and stripped a rocker stud. Took the rocker off the stud, did a little welding on the stud, ground it down so the rocker would fit, buttoned it up and drove it to Florida, end of the run, and then back home. On 3 Power Tour(s) later, (Hot Rod), we dynoed it at 495 HP at the rear wheels. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bullard-Performance-Inc/189224392489?fref=tsScroll down a little over 1/2 way and you will find a video. That is the Chevy on the DragStrip in oHIo.

Thanks for the info, that was good. 13s "ain't too shabby" but was it hard to stay strainght? Nice rig, and sounds like a long interesting project. Stay safe, later.

It does not spin the rear wheels unless they are in water. Then hang on. Otherwise just set in the seat, hold the handlebars and mash the throttle. At about a buck and a quarter the top starts rocking back and forth. I know then to back off.............. I rode it out to 140 once in Wyo. Said I'd never do that again, that was a handful. My youngest daughter becomes the registered owner next week or the next week after that. The youngest son gets MGM at the same time. I'll be hanging up the ownership of these 2 rigs.

Ain't going to be no heeee heeee to it, will be a couple of tears dropped in the process.
Hate to see the 2 units go, but at least they are staying in the family.
I've had the Chevy since 1988, and MGM since 1997.
