Hey guys, is the thermostat housing at the end of the radiator house like a car or is it deeper into the block?

It's located at the other end of the top radiator hose.

A bit of work to get at.

It sits on top of the block like a car.  I've read that there is an automotive equivalent part.  All you need to remove is the radiator, with one bolt at the top.  The tricky part is removing the 3 bolts holding the thermostat housing.  There's very little clearance for one of them.  I think I used a 1/4" socket set.

Not something you'd normally do as a maintenance item.

The thermostats rarely go bad.
