Do you play in a band?  If so what is the name?  Ever hear of Big Nick and the Gila monsters?  I saw them once at I believe it was the Rhythm Room in Phoenix.  I try to check out the bands when I get into Phoenix.

Played in bands in Phx back 64-70 while going to L.A. and back for recording, ect. Or, Ca, Wa, Id, Nv, NM, Tx, Fl,. Burned out on doing it for a living right after I got my '97 in 2001! Gigged for a few more years and now retired, I actually practice more now than I have in years. Chops are fine, just not much of a desire to deal with promoters, club owners any more.
Fiddlin around a coupla yrs ago. One take wonder.

I hate to be a downer but my Korean wife tells me that, like China, the children in North Korea (DPRK) are separated from their families and spend full time practicing their art - and it shows. They are products of the communist state. She sees robots. She sees forced fake smiles. Yes, they excel but at great cost. In my darkest thoughts I wonder what is done or said to motivate them? I'm sure that their parents miss them.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to grow up or live in North Korea.  Did you happen to see the National Geo special of the eye surgeon who went to NK and donated his time and money to do hundreds of cataract surgeries?  When they removed the bandages from all these folks who were essentially blind, and they could see again, all they could do was thank the great leader, Kim Il Song.   My wife is Korean as well, but when I showed her the video, she didn't have her glasses on or pick up that it was from NK.  I should have caught it as the background was so plain, compared to what you see on the ROK TV programs.

Thanks for all the good words! @Wallie: If I remember right, I was wandering around your living room and picked up your sons acoustic thinking I'd pick a little Bert Jansch number that I knew and much to my surprise, as I looked down at my fingers not doing ANYTHING I was telling them to do, I realized that the little voice in my head telling me, "put down that guitar and back away"! was right! That's what happens when ya don't keep on keeping on with the damn thing! Maybe I'll do a short vid of a snippet of that tune now that my fingers seem to be cooperating better nowadays. Other than that episode, I sure had a GREAT time at you guys pad that weekend!!!

Actually, it was my Australian made Maton 6 string that you picked up. I bought it straight from the factory in '73 a few months before I headed back to Canada via Europe.

Ahhh, memories.  That was a great weekend for sure.

I have heard of the way things go in Korea.  Damn sad.  But they really know how to play.  I agree with skinhead,  Tommy is better and WANTS to play.  Not forced to play.
