I live in South Kansas City. I have a 2001 Valkyrie Standard, I have had the carbs worked on and adjusted and the bike runs good. I am not a bad mechanic but I might like to put new gaskets in the Carbs. I have a small leak from one of the them. I would like to get someone who has some more knowledge on this to assist. Or if you guys are ready for another wrench party that would be good too. I look forward to your replies. Thanks Rick in South KC>

You're surrounded by good resources.

Redeye Tech who markets the finest carb gaskets, O-rings, and desmog kits is located in Overland Park.

There are a number of good wrenches in Eastern Kansas.

When you say you have a small leak from one, where precisely do you mean?

I have had the Carb on the brake side middle leaking just a drip from the bottom of the float bowl. I should have had gaskets put in the last time I had them taken off to clean. The carburetors have been a problem. They are tuned well and the bike runs smooth and strong. I am used to working on an old BMW r100/7 which was a much more simple design.{2 bing Cv Carbs} I am a little reticent to take this bike apart without instruction. Thanks for your replies. Rick

A spring wrench party sounds like a good idea for all of us, but (without seeing it) it sounds like an o-ring.

If the bike is running good right now and we can determine exactly where the leak is I don't see why you would want to replace all the gaskets. I would spray the offending carb down with Brake Clean and wipe everything clean & dry and start checking for the exact location of the leak. As Willow said there are many close to you who have considerable experience working on these fine machines.

Yes, I think it is an  O ring. I am going to pick up a few things from Redeye tech tomorrow. He is nearby I might like to desmog at some point too. Thanks everyone for the good advice. Rick.

Feel free to ask if you want some help with that, several of us have done it. Would be a goodproject for a wrench party too.
