Oh, and by the way, you've also got the bestest looking Red/White I've seen! Everything else you said is certainly ok with me.

I don't know what triggered that, but I like it! I resemble that. Been "contributing" since I was 15. Never been without a pay check. Married to my high school schweetheart 40+ years. Will be pulling the proverbial plug in June after 38 years with the company. Might see ya'all in Michigan one day down the road. Good on you and yours.    Cool sheets

I was a card carrying union member for over ten years and finally left the rank and file (by my own choice) to make my own way in the company....never voted democrat, never cared to tow that line. During my time in the R&F, what I came to realize was that the vast, vast majority of union members were just as conservative as me (you echo many of my beliefs in your post) but they chose to to vote democratic simply because they were union members. I never could quite understand that. God love ya man...I'd ride with you anytime anywhere. My brother has a similar issue with his back, wears an inserted pain pump and lives in misery every day...you wouldn't know it to talk to him though. SALUTE!

Public opinion did not buy my Oldsmobile or my Valkyrie. Public opinion had nothing to do with where i chose to labor. I've had people tell me to my face that i'm too old to ride a motorcycle and my hair and my beard are too long. 2funny Wanna guess how far that didn't get them? tickedoff In short-you sound like a staight shooter to me. cooldude Hope i gat to meet you and yer lady at Inzane. - Don't practice religion (non-believer), except when I attend/practice to placate my mother... never an issue on the Valk.

- Work in a profession that has a love/hate relationship with most citizens (  police )... never an issue on the Valk.

- Used to be a conservative who supported the Republicans (in a 95% Democratic area); that was until "Mr." Kasich (Ohio gov) tried to take away about 30% of my family's livelihood, will never vote for a Republican again... never an issue on the Valk.

- Have been Union Director at my agency for 15 years, personally negotiated about 5 contracts with the "man"... never an issue on the Valk

- Have what many feel is a public pension made of gold; yeah, sure I do, can retire with pension at 49... never an issue on the Valk

Never have sweated the "keyboard cowboys", here or anywhere else. Good debate is fun (mostly); and I have found that it hasn't mattered in face-to-face meet-ups. Especially with the members here.

Been to many a VRCC function and after meeting many people and making some, what I hope, will be life long friendships, your (our) political, religious, tire, oil, gun-ownership, and labor-relations proclivities have pretty much never come up when we're live.

No trash of you here.  While I share many but not all of your associations, I was just wondering if your disability might have started with those punishments handed out by the nuns.  About the time you were in school they were armed with them metal rules they used over the knuckles.  Mine hurt just thinking about it.

All good words RTaz!  I know that I have posted my objections to Unions.  I don't have problems with Unions, I have a problem being forced to belong to one in order to get a job.  That is wrong.  I have several friends who belong to unions, SmokinJoe being one.  It is their choice and as long as it is their choice it is fine with me.  Most religions all seek to serve God and I certainly am all for that.  My bible says seek your own salvation; if being a Catholic makes it happen for you who am I to dissagree.  A "religion" that says that nonbelievers should be destroyed is another situation, but I don't consider that a religion, more like a Nazi hate/domination thing.
If our politicians ruled our country based on our Constitution we wouldn't need a Democratic or Republican party.  We are indiividuals with both similar and different points of view.  The Ten Commandants and the Constitution rule my world and I'm OK with anyone that doesn't infringe on my right to live by them.  Else the next statement is my rule "Don't Tread On Me".
So after this narrative I have to say you are an OK Dude in my book and would and will ride with you anytime!

Good read Bob, I don't care either, as long as I'm on top of the grass, I'll try to understand what is said.

I got ya several years and I'm also on SS, and a couple of other ones.

I don't care what ya ride, just so long as ya ride.   You will end up like I  am in due time.    I had to go to 3 wheels.    Sure glad I had that little Chevy Trike, it wasn't such a big a change if I hadn't of had it.

If ya get down to Iowa, I'll ride with ya one way or another.

You had me until the admission that you're a "yankee"  Wink  (JK) but I guess I can overlook that since I've been married to one for over 23 years!
You ever get down to south MS, we'll rustle up some ribs and stuff!

Truly, Bob, depending on what metric we choose, I'm either in the smallest of minorities, the vast majority, or floating somewhere in the middle.  I sometimes make the mistake of believing the group making the most noise is the largest.  It isn't always so.

There is much that you and I don't hold in common.  There is much we do.  I remember enjoying every minute I've spent with you and Devl and I don't recall that our differences ever got in the way.

I care deeply about my religious and political views, but I don't choose my friends dependent upon their total agreement with my views.  If I were to do that, I would have even fewer friends than I do.

I, like some others, have noticed that when we're (the VRCC) together face to face we tend to talk a lot more about what we have in common and a lot less about what divides us.  I wish we could do more of that over the internet as well.
