I'm gonna be lookin at that 195-70-16 taxi tire for my darkside.

Been listening to at least two, maybe three guys on this board
who have it mounted.

Could you please post your opinions of the tire, and maybe a pic,
if you can find the time.

My 205-60-16 Hercules is down to the wear bars, at 70000km,
or approx. 44000mi.

I am running the Austone, but the size is 175R16C. Purchased it from Classic tire. Actually it is classified as a light truck/taxi tire, 6 ply rating steel belted radial. I only have a little over 500 miles on mine, but so far it is great, narrow tread, and slightly rounded profile. I think handling is about as close as you can get to a motorcycle time. Sorry no pic, will try to post one later.

OMG Dubbs likes the Taxi Tire.

Smokin Joe won't even do the Taxi Tire.

But I think it will work.

Kinda like a extended range MC Tire.

Grumpy, I sure appreciate it. While you're at it can you also check out the stamped DOT code? Embedded in that is the date code and i'd love to know how fresh these tires are.

Thanks Grumpy, your Austone is sure fresher than the Fuzion ZRi that i just bought. Mine is almost three years old. Yours is only one. I think the Austone will be my next rear on my Interstate as I'd love to shed 300+ rpm at cruise. I'd love to know what your rpm's are at 70 mph.   Smiley

RPM just barely makes a little under 3000 at 70 mph, That is by the GPS, spedo reads about 3 mph slow. Will check the mileage next weekend, making the round trip to Daytona.

Ok, that 99mph maximum is not too impressive. Has anyone gone
well over that, or is that the best that can be hoped for?

What happens if you do 110mph? Does it shake, or wobble?

I do 110 regularly.

Has anyone tried locking it up when doing an emergency stop?  That's what I love about my triple tread, I can't lock it up, it just stops me immediately.  It looks like it might lock up more easily since it's skinnier.... Undecided

The Goldwing guy from the link said he 'only' got 20,000 miles out of it, which surprised him as he expected more.
What are the results here?
