just rebuilt the carbs on buddies bike (99 I/S) stock, 47,000 miles.

desmogged, all sealed up nice and tight.

jets set to 2 1/4 turns, carbs synched.

cold, idles ok, after warmup idles faster 3-5 hundred.

choke shuts completely off.

runs really good, no popping or sputtering.

any ideas?

could it be the high idle?

Once its warmed up turn the idle adjust knob whichever way it needs to achieve 900-1000 rpms and call it good.  Its going to idle slower than that when cold, nuthin you can do bout that

Any ideas about what ?? From your post it appears to be running good.. Any engine will run slower than warm.. Like Chris said, set the speed you want [900] when warm..
