I wish to inform the entire VRCC membership of the passing of Pat Jamail early today.  Known to us as "Laser Pat".  We received a call from Texas Deb of his unexpected early passing.  A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday March 24.  More details to follow.    Texas Deb will be posting details in a few days.

Regards, T.P. and Nancy

I'm truly saddened by this news.  I could tell from the few times I rode with him that he was a really nice guy.  He really was someone that you could be proud to say you knew him, even prouder to say you were one of his friends.

Wow! Just saw him last year at InZane, and then was shock when I read his post about Stage 4 Colon Cancer.  Cry

It sure was quick! Prayers from us here for the repose of his soul, and for Deb to be strong.  angel

Deb, I'm sure you have enough memories of him to keep you smiling every time you think of him for quite some time! I know it sounds hollow now, but at least he did not suffer for long!

I am very sad to hear the news.

Pat was an outgoing gentleman that will be missed.  I met up with him last year while taking a solo trip to Florida to see the last flight of the Discovery space shuttle.  He monitored my trip and let me know that he was just a phone call away in case I had any trouble.  It turned out that he busted his own oil pan on the way home in his BMW convertible.  I offered Pat the use of my Valkyrie, but other friends had already come to his aid.   Pat also met up to greet me to the Republic of Texas rally last year.  It's always a good thing to find a friendly face in a crowd of strangers.

The world has one less really nice guy.  My prayers go to Deb and family.

I just went back and looked for the message that he posted just a few days ago. That's where I read that he had stage 4 Colon cancer. Somehow I didn't relate that with it being him who passed when I said I didn't know he was sick. Dang! His made his post that day sound like he was discussing something simple, not deadly. It's only been 3 days since he was talking about taking medicine!  :'(

Pat was a Great guy. I have had the pleasure to share some wind with him and Texas Deb on many occasions. Whether in Texas at Hotglue's GOTF or Texas Rangers BBQ's. I remember riding with him in Frisco Co at INZANE. He has been to the Tucumcari meet up many times as well. I was hoping to share more wind at the NM RIDE IN this memorial weekend.

RIP and Godspeed LASER PAT. May your roads be smooth and plentiful. You will be missed.

Prayers and thoughts go out to Texas Deb and Pats family.

Pat & Deb are good people.  I only had the privilege of going on one breakfast ride with the two of them.  We shared some great hill country roads and a classic hill country breakfast.  By the end of that ride I felt like I had known the two of them for years.  What ya see is what ya got.  Down to earth, honest, good people.  May the Lord go with you Deb and give you strength during these troubled times...Jim Lynch  Cry
