after reading Willows post about his crash where he touted his back pad in his jacket for being able to stil walk.. I got ta thinkin. unfortunately i dont like how they feel so i take em outa my jackets.. was just wonderin if anyone knows of a comfortable aftermarket pad that has shoulder straps to wear under the jacket that aint so dang stiff as the ones that come w the jackets

after reading Willows post about his crash where he touted his back pad in his jacket for being able to stil walk.. Tom, that's one reason I mentioned it. I know a lot of guys take that spine pad out of their mesh jackets. It's about the only spot on that mesh jacket that makes me sweat.
I landed flat on my back from a significant altitude. I suffered pretty good bruising, but no damage to the spine or internal organs (the external organs are another story).
I found the spine pad uncomfortable, but it's one of those things I just decided to get used to. I'm glad I did, but I hope no one else ever needs it.
