I would have a problem with any president being on the flag.  Or any US flag being altered in any way....

"It leads me to believe that it's not about the flag," she told FoxNews.com. "Certain elements cannot accept Barack Obama as president."

Unbelievable. Yes it is about the flag. Has nothing to do with Obama. Having anything and I mean ANYTHING in the field except stars is a kick in the face of all that have fought and died for that flag...... PERIOD......

What is even more interesting is that the only replies so far, Chris, is our family. Your post isn't even close in hits to some of the posts on this board.

Maybe this isn't considered such a big deal by some. Or maybe everyone's just tired of continual rants, polls, and arguing about everything in general.

I've got it!  Everybody is riding, yep, that's it!

Riding, sick of the arguing, and... quite frankly nothing the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and/or his supporters does surprises or shocks me anymore, and anything we say about the outrageous shenanigans thereof can and will be used against us in the court of public opinion...

Opinions are neither correct nor incorrect.  They just are.  But, I am amazed at how many Obama supporters (including you) seem to be waiting for him to "drop trou" so they can honor him.

The flag with Zero's picture is OK, ONLY if it is flown upside down, on the White House.  Fifty of them would be good.  It would still be flag desecration, but under those circumstances, I could live with it (so long as he's living there).

Cute. I'm not taking the bait.  Roll Eyes

I'm not an "Obama supporter" actually. I just don't think he's the anti-Christ boogeyman that so many others here seem to think he is. For that matter, what exactly does HE have to do with this? Some whackadoo put his face on a "flag".

BTW, every Federal building (and most other government facilities as well) has a picture of the current President hanging in the lobby. DICTATERS!!!

It's not cool under any circumstances actually. The flag is the flag. Hanging it upside down may be appropriate under certain circumstances but altering it is not.

you know Lennin never wanted Stalin to take over, he was scared for his country if Stalin came into power. his fears were well founded 40,000 death warrants personally signed by 'uncle joe' perhaps as many as 20,000,000 killed by policy, purges, and exile. he'd run you out on a train to middle of the perma frost in siberia and you starve to death. he was so afraid of a military coup he killed almost all of his generals, and that's when Adolph invaded uglystupid2

dang what do you have to do to be the first one to post a news story around here? I guess I'll have to give up the job and be a 24-7 poster.  Cool

the news report I heard the Dem interviewed said it was a gift, so they just ran it up the flag pole to see who was gonna scream about it??   Roll Eyes  they didn't 'know' it was against federal flag regs, maybe not, but aren't these supposed to be the smart ones?

Well, I view that flag as a novelty item.  I'm not deeply offended that someone made this, perhaps not even knowing some might be offended.  But now the group knows Vets are offended.  And the vets demonstrated that this is forbidden under a statute protecting the integrity of the flag.  What really p*sses me off is that they're going to check with their attorney to see if they can still fly it.  To hell with the vets I suppose is their view.

I have a hard time believing that they didn't know that it was a violation of flag etiquette. I think they're just crap disturbers.

Ok, I'm gonna play the other side of the coin.
We have adopted the current flag as our National flag. No changing it. Do you know how many variations of the US flag I've seen with no uproar from anyone? Some with pix of Mt Rushmore, some with olympic rings, armed forces, etc. Same for the CSA flag.
Its not like this is adopted by the US as our National flag. To me its a joke, and wont get upset. Dont get me wrong. I love this country and the flag. I've carried a flag at prob more PGR missions then most on here.

I have. None of them are okay.

Honestly, I'm more offended by people who leave their flags out at night, unlit, in the rain etc. Why? I think because the people that do the kind of thing we see above are troublemakers. I naturally tune them out. What annoys me is "sunshine patriots" who want to demonstrate their devotion to their country but don't bother to learn a little bit about how you treat Old Glory.

I fought for that flag, and I don't appreciate it being f*cked with, even if it is in fun.

During WWII, people used to put little signs, kind of like dealer frames on their license plate.

It said, Quote:   Put your (picture of a heart) in America or get your (Picture of a jackass) out.   Unquote.

I'm thinking maybe we ought to bring that back and enforce it, starting with the Top Dog in DC.   His heart is in no way in hell in America, except for all of his czar's and the use of Air Force One.    Then start relieving the illegals as they come into the light.   Only way they can stay under the radar is by not being caught with their fingers in the cookie jar.    Semper fi, over and out.

The American Flag is NOT to be desecrated, PERIOD!!!

Any form other than the recognized official flag is wrong and should not be flown.

I flew my American flag lighted at night, I replaced it with an American made flag, when tattered, and disposed of it properly.

To me, a Korean War Veteran, it is a BIG DEAL!

To consult an attorney to figure out a way to fly a desecrated flag is despicable!
